Gee I wonder what this hack would be saying if this been Bush’s DOJ spying on the Obongo campaign.

Bates is an interested party since HE played a large role in shaping the FISC (as presiding judge for 4 recent years).

It means little to nothing that he wishes to defend his close colleagues who are still on that court.

It would only be noteworthy if he DID take issue with how they are conducting themselves.

Idiocy abounds in govt. and most of govt protects it’s wrong doers. That’s why the entire swamp must be drained.

So, he’s saying that the Court was complicit in running the coup.

Traitor Roberts included.

“One person’s opinion.”

That is not his opinion, it is a knowing lie.

“U.S. District Judge John Bates, who once led the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court ... said he has seen no evidence lending credibility to Republican concerns that officials misled the court in obtaining a 2016 FISA warrant and three renewals.”

Which means he’s part of the problem we’re facing with the growing drift into a police state.

If what he says is taken at face value, then there’s a HUGE PROBLEM with the FISA Court system, since it, I guess, allows any administration to spy on their political opponents by simply making up a story and going to the FISA judges with it.

Is that he’s really supporting - something that isn’t even tolerated in the Third World?

So this judge didn’t see the Steele dossier in the 302?

Methinks someone is covering for X (pick x, any x).

Fisa Court was created in the aftermath of the Church Commission. It was designed to strengthen oversight of the FBI after their abuse is of the 1960s and 70s. Instead they made it into a playground where they can hide all of their crimes Under The Heading of National Security.

I’ve been wondering why some of the FISA judges haven’t come out of hiding and reacted to the abuse of the FISA system. I have concluded that none of them have because they supported and approved of the abuse, and were probably well aware of the abuse at that time. All these kind of judges are a big part of the problem.

Disband the FISA Court as the first part of a long need cleansing of the DOJ.

I can make a persuasive case. Since Carter Page was the primary subject they must have had significant, substantial proof he did something wrong. Was he ever indicted of anything???

The FISA process is secret.

I have not seen any evidence to support the claim....

DUH!

He added. I have never been to Japan. And since I have not seen evidence that it exists, I must back the claim that is does not exist.

And he's wrong.

Even worse: He could be RIGHT.

I have long suspected that Carter Page was a Democrat/RINO mole planted in the Trump campaign for the sole purpose of establishing a justification for the FISA surveillance.

Isn't anyone here wondering why he seems to be the only named person in all this chicanery who has NOT been charged with any criminal offenses?

I am not a big fan of secret courts. The whole FISA thing should be done away with.

"And not only have I seen nothing that would indicate that, I have heard nothing that persuasively makes that case."

bates, like most liberal FISA judges, are in on the scam, the fbi doesn't have to lie to them, it's all wink, wink, nod, nod.
