Spike Lee, the famed director whose BlacKkKlansman, was up for a best picture award at the Oscars on Sunday night, reportedly attempted to storm out of the Dolby Theatre after it was announced that Green Book won the award.
He walked toward the back of the auditorium and, according to a reporter for Deadline, got into what appeared to be an intense conversation with the writer Jordan Peele. The report said that he turned his back to the stage during the speech.

I first saw him in ‘The 4400’; he had a very striking film presence, but I don’t go to movies and didn’t know anything further about him. ‘The Green Book’ sounds interesting.
lol
Sounds like a typical day for little man Spike Lee.
AMEN!
Literal example of an ingrate just after getting an Oscar - apparently one doesn’t get too old to be a whiny spoiled punk while most hard workers in that industry never get one. And in PC news they gave that Caulderon guy three when he earned one at the most. At least we weren’t subjected to lengthy anti-Trump rants.
The real reason he fled is that the fashion police put out a warrant for his arrest.
Calm down, Spike. Its only the Oscars, not a screwed up McDonalds order!
Cue the Fake Newser media talking point about “temper tantrums” they regularly apply to Trump border policy.
I know that term would never be used for lil spikey, but I can dream a little once in a while...
i saw both films....the Green Book was ok..nothing spectacular. Black Klansman was a typical Lee film..cliched filled and the same “cheesy” feel to it like all his others. Overrated knucklehead.
SL...most overrated movie person EVER! Doesn’t deserve one post on FR.
Just go away!
Green Book was the worst kind of awful. But far worse was Skin, which won the best live action short.. I saw all FIVE of the shorts at a special screening at a Bow-Tie Cinema in Montclair NJ. SKIN is just unbelievably over th top as an “ironic” object lesson about bigotry and revenge, but that’s exactly why it won. By far the best was “Detainment”-—amazing on all levels —about the real life brutal killing of a small boy in Liverpool by 2 10 year olds. It was huge news in the 90s, and the film is unforgettable.
Spike Lees daddy left his mom for a white woman
He literally has never recovered
Oscars tonight was black black black black and more black
Silly
I detest almost all of them
One of my best pals is a producer..
I called him earlier tonight in Los Feliz teasing him if he was going...
Hes like only if I have a picture or documentary under consideration and even then its a pain
Prima donnas all....he has to watch his mouth out there or he’ll kill his distribution capabilities much less financing
The best part tonight was Cooper and Gaga....it was good honestly
And the menustration girls....for their documentary....I laughed so hard they were so earnest ...getting rural Indian girls tampons is a good thing admittedly
Spike Lee is pissed.
Another successful Oscars night.
Yay.
If the Academy was really honest, Roma should have won.
But there would have been a riot if one of the “black” movies didn’t win.
I did see Black Panther. It was decent, but fairly average as far as Marvel superhero movies go. It didn't deserve a "Best Picture" nomination. The fact it got one is far more insulting, IMO.
He expected to get best director....He also thought his movie was in the running....
Green Book might be entertaining, but no way...no way best.
First Man and Bohemias Rhapsody..by far the best...
Why?
Why what?
My Post #13 was a statement, not a question.
