Spike Lee, the famed director whose BlacKkKlansman, was up for a best picture award at the Oscars on Sunday night, reportedly attempted to storm out of the Dolby Theatre after it was announced that Green Book won the award.
He walked toward the back of the auditorium and, according to a reporter for Deadline, got into what appeared to be an intense conversation with the writer Jordan Peele. The report said that he turned his back to the stage during the speech.

Hollywood is a cheap imitation of what it used to be in the Golden Age and I’m being charitable.
As if any of the other nominees were.
I figured they would give the award to him just to shut him up like they have with previous awards.
Any word yet on the ratings?
I have to think it’s got to be one of the lowest-rated ever.
The race thing is so 50s/60s in the US. Only people who can remember even seeing old signs about it are in their 60s/70s or older.
Only slavery practiced today is by blacks in Muslim countries and those involved with human trafficking, which should fall under slavery legislation.
Racism today is only practiced by those who project their own bigotry against whites, trying to milk more free stuff out of the welfare state and pity trail. When it has all dried up, the only innovative tactics they can conceive is to fabricate false hate crimes to sucker pity and seek power for their lack of merit or virtue.
I tried to watch the Oscars last night. Not because I cared too much. But because I am in a hotel room and there is not much to do on a Sunday night. I found the Oscars a diversity pile of drivel that had little to do with actual talent or a abilities. It had everything to do with who was best claiming their ethnicity or gender. Were you more black or Hispanic or gay or a women. White straight men were not really there. The revolution was complete. There was even one category in set design where the man shared the award with his assistant, probably to add a black female to the ballot. I just could not watch it. So when Spike Lee got up on stage to rattle on about himself, I just turned it off.
To be fair, I never liked the Oscars much. And this year I had not gone to see any of the movies in the best picture category. My adult children saw and liked Green Book, Black Panther and Bohemian Rhapsody. But this Oscar show and the movie industry have just passed me by. My apathy is now so strong that I just don’t think I will ever care again. And my red pill so illuminating that I can never see the show. I just see the propaganda. I sort of wish there was a dependable list somewhere that told me when there was a movie worth my effort. One that was not 80% propaganda, just a good story, well told.
Hmmm, maybe I should see Green Book after all, if Spike disapproves.............
I doubt either film holds any socially redeeming value or entertainment value for that matter.
I thought he was dressing to try out as the Black Joker in the DC comic universe.
Glen Close lost her 7th nomination. How did she react? I dont watch movies or award shows.
"I'm not going to be IGNORED!"
Chill Spike dude, your opinion is obviously not universally reflected.
If their people aren’t suffering,
“race leaders” have no power.
He is also in the HBO production of season 3 of “True Detective”. He is an excellent actor.
He dressed like a flamboyant baggage handler....and WOW does he have baggage! Anything to spread racism, bash improved race relations, and promulgate race baiting and race pimping.
VILE BASTARDS ALL OF THEM!! Poisonous EVIL FREAKIN viper snakes.. I prayed hard for God to bring down the auditorium hell pit where they spewed their demonic hatred puke!!!! I’m sick of them!!!
How ironic if you know what a Green Book is.
Dang gentrification bit him in the ass.
I wonder if he planned on being beat up by trump supporters later but Smollett ruined that.
“If I went to see movies any more I mightve gone to see Green Book.”
Green Book is a great movie. Glad it won. One movie I want to see is The Favorite. The actress who won best female lead is flat out funny. She gave a laugh out loud, acceptance speech even though I couldn’t understand most of it. When the Brits get rambling on something it is always fun to see.
