President Trump's approval rating on the economy has reached a new high, according to a Gallup poll published Tuesday.

The poll showed that 56 percent of adults in the U.S. approve of Trump's handling of the economy, the best mark of Trump's presidency and the highest approval rating for Trump on any of the 14 issues in the poll.

The poll also found that a majority of voters approve of Trump's handling of unemployment and of the situation with North Korea, with 54 percent approving of Trump's job with unemployment and 51 percent approving on North Korea.

But the president's overall approval rating still sits at just 43 percent, according to the poll. Another 54 percent of adults, meanwhile, disapprove of Trump's performance as president.

Trump gets the lowest marks on his handling of relations with Russia, race relations and corruption in government, according to the poll. The poll found that 39 percent, 38 percent and 37 percent approve of Trump's handling of those three issues, respectively.

Respondents were split heavily along partisan lines in their views of Trump.

Ninety-three percent of Republicans approve of Trump's handling of the economy, compared to just 20 percent of Democrats. Additionally, just 6 percent of Democrats approve of Trump's overall job performance, while 90 percent of Republicans approve, according to the poll.

The poll's results are based on interviews with 1,932 adults from Feb. 12-28. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Polls, especially this far away from an election, are not worth much except to notice trends. The trend for Trump is up in most of the polls. Given the hue and cry coming from the Democrats, especially those in the House, these numbers are remarkable. Note that the poll reached out to adults, i.e. anyone who responded. Rule of thumb for all adults polls is to add 10 points to any result involving Trump and the Republicans to understand what would really happen in an election.

My prediction is that Trump will get another bump when he vetos the NEA proclamation. The American people are behind him on this even if the Senate have their noses out of joint.

Only this annoyed me.

Trump gets the lowest marks on his handling of relations with Russia...

I had thought the msm was relatively impotent at this point.

Since there is no REAL evidence to justify low mark on Russia, I must assume the msm has had an impact.

That pisses me off.

The American people have no idea what is going on with Russia, so any question about our relations with them will reflect what the media has told them to think. Note that Trumps high numbers are in areas that Americans can see for themselves and the results are 180 degrees out from the media narrative.

A poll of “Adults” is pretty worthless except to show how much support someone gets from people that don’t vote.

I just got a tax refund. First one in years. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

I will put that refund to good use to buy something that drills big holes.

Love the Donald.

any poll that could possibly contribute to the haters eating their hearts out, to their despondence, to their derangement, to their hopelessness, to their in-fighting, to their lashing out in desperation, and to eventually dropping dead, is fine with me

Exactly right. Most “adults” are easily swayed by lies from politicians and by relentless propaganda from the media.

Good to hear about any favorable poll, but Trump should run on attacking Democrat-caused drags on the economy, not on favorable economic numbers alone. Numbers that are favorable now can be affected by Democrat actions at the state level, media efforts to demoralize consumers about the future, and all sorts of forces beyond the control of any president.

Dont worry, the feds will raise interest rates to 25% if that is what it takes to crater the economy before 2020

The Dem message in 2020 will be “Yes, but it’s not trickling down to YOU fast enough!”

These are amazing numbers considering the majority of stories by the MSM are hateful...

Good observation. That’s why conservatives lose when they run on numbers alone. There are all sorts of answers to this, i.e., immigration, lack of education, self-destructive habits of favored minorities, etc., but Republicans need to have their talking points on the tips of their tongues.

______________

We owed a small amount because 1) we had lowered our quarterly payment and 2) we made more. If we had kept the quarterly as it was, we would have received a small refund, likely just applied to next year.

I love Donald, too.

“Additionally, just 6 percent of Democrats approve of Trump's overall job performance...”

Given the state of the economy (along with everything else that’s going well since Trump took office), this information is all I need to know that Democrats are utterly incapable of rationality.

There’s clearly no point in trying to reason with them.

Pretty much a partisan result. 44% percent (the non working or hardly working) would want his handling of the economy to be giving them free money for nothing. He failed to deliver on that account.

As for Russia, since 1989, Russia relations probably couldn’t even hit the top 20 of concerns for Americans. Certainly couldn’t get Democrats to get worked up about Russia - since the Bolsheviks took over. It is only a “concern” because the media has made it so. I dislike Putin but unless I am stupid enough to invest in Russia, it has no bearing on the nation whatsoever.

Oh, it is a reasonable result for a poll of all adults. Many of them are not Partisan, they are just clueless. They catch a soundbite from the MSM and they parrot what they heard. These people vote in very low numbers, so such a poll are not accurate. Don’t look at the numbers, just see the overall sense of the responders, and they Democrat professionals are not happen with this.
