Trump’s order effectively canceled a policy, signed by President Barack Obama in July 2016, requiring U.S. officials to release “an unclassified summary of the number of strikes undertaken by the United States government outside areas of active hostilities,” as well as a related civilian casualty report by May 1 each year.
“This is a shameful decision that will shroud this administration’s actions in even more secrecy with little accountability for its victims," Daphne Eviatar, Amnesty International USA's director of security with human rights, said in a statement. “The public deserves to know how many civilians are killed by U.S. actions. This is an unconscionable decision and in complete disregard of fundamental human rights. It is incomprehensible that this vital work will be left only to human rights organizations such as ours.”

He ought to revoke Obama’s order. Then issue a new order using EXACTLY the same words - letter for letter - that Obama used.

I remember it. Obama did that to get the heat off of himself for all the drone strikes that were being done. This is just more winning.
Yeah, I mean seriously though, are these things that inaccurate that they’re killing that many innocents in collateral damage? I seriously doubt it. That’s kinda my point from the get go. Much ado about nothing.

We have, by far, the most powerful military on earth. Why are we making war more comfortable? Is it to facilitate the military industrial complex Eisenhower warned us about? War should be hell on earth to prevent more war!!
Well, I guess I don’t disagree with you. But I don’t think it works.
I mean, “Shock and Awe” didn’t prevent anything. WWII didn’t prevent anything and that was pretty bad. The “War to End All Wars” is a Unicorn. People forget.
But drone strikes are about as pinpoint an action as there can be. And if this terrorist has friends and family around him, well then “innocents” (if they can really be) are going to get hurt. Shame on him for putting them in harms way. Not us for bringing the harm. And then taking the bother to publish it.
As if obama and brennan were” transparent” about the numbers of collateral casualties caused by drone strikes: I’ve seen numbers from 2,000 to over 5,000
Remember that Brennan drew up the target list and he or obama personally directed every strike. Obama even jokec about being “ good at killing”
Every “ military age male” in the dead zone was considered a valid target
Obama was also making all sorts of last minute interdepartment agency changes to permit them to share info AFTER the election of DJT. I seem to recall that changes were under way even in January 2017.
You know the drill....Drone takes out a car or a small hut, killing the jihadi’s inside. The bastards then drag a dead kid into the rubble and cry crocodile tears about how the eeeeevil Americans kill little brown kids. And the media dutifully cooperates.
