Article I Section 8 says that the seat of government must be in a district no more than 10 miles square, made up of land ceded to it by the states.

The seat of government cannot be a state.

IIRC, when the Republic of Texas became the State of Texas, two stipulations were included in the Statehood agreement.

1. The Texas Flag may be flown at the same height as the U.S flag.

2. At any time, Texas, at its discretion, may divide itself into five separate States of the USA...

Hey, I’m all for forming some new States.

If we split off the east-southeast-south central 2/3 of my state, we would be a good conservative state, and still have more area and more natural resources than most other states.

It would be really nice to have some actual Senatorial representation for a change. For the last twenty years all we have had is leftists who only care about the three major cities that hold half the state’s population.

I guess since 0bama said they were 57 states, I guess the Socialists decided to create 57 states. I think they might carve 57 states out of California, Oregon, Washington, Minneapolis-St.Mohammad, Detroit, lower New York, Long Island, Fairfield County Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont.
