That’s comforting.

By “we,” she means the almighty power of the state can change your behavior.

And we know how statists like to go about changing behavior.

These kids think everything is wrong....as they live in houses heated by gas, computers, TVs and every other damn appliance run by electricity....polish their leather shoes, throw the empty bottle unto the highway. It may be fashionable to blast her here, but she is right. Society, laws, regulations, etc. have changed human behaviors. Some examples - smoking in workplaces, overt sexual harassment of women in workplaces (compare for example the 1970s to today), even simple things like wearing seatbelts and recycling are changes in human behavior compared to just 1-2 generations ago.

Government coercion, laws, regulations, mandates, corporate training programs, penalties, subsidies, etc. are all ways in which human behavior is changed. No question about it.
