The fiction continues. I'll wager there's been more non-protected class convicts with near zero criminal records sentenced to death than any other descriptive class. If that's the case, it clearly shows that the death penalty discriminates against non-minorities.

Or another way to put it, statistics can be used to prove any point. Long and short of it, people who have murdered cops and multiple people will be commuted to life without parole (which means a lot of years with a parole at the end.)

Of course, Newsom promised that the people would have their voice heard in this and their decision would be what he stuck with. Guess if you don't ask, you get to tell people what their opinion is.

Newsome himself should volunteer to test the death penalty.

Just like Kamala Harris. She is anti-death penalty. Two peas in a pod, both against the will of the people, and both coddle hard criminals.

To be fair to pretty boy there hasn’t really been a death penalty in cali for years. Tookie was one of the last about a decade ago. From then the death penalty has just been a more expensive life sentence with better accommodations. Cucksom is just making it official.

So California voters actually voted to speed up the application of the death penalty, and instead the Governor and elites decide to override the will of the people.

Thwarting the will of its citizens seems to be a familiar theme in California.

But I thought Dems were all for "count every vote" and democracy 'n' stuff.

Funny how there wasn’t much moral pontificating over the immorality of the death penalty concerning Tim McVeigh, other than a few Jesuits doing a lackluster rendition of Jesus carrying the Cross on the morning of his execution, and that was a barely noticeable four line article buried in USA Today or Larry Brewer, convicted in the racially motivated murder of James Bird. Not that these POS’s didn’t get what they deserved, but libs think they’re slick at how they pick and choose their battles don’t they? Also, Dylann Roof is on death row, will Rage Against the Machine or the Beasty Boys get together to do a benefit concert to commute his sentience, perhaps do a smarmy rendition of Knocking on Heaven’s Door? Better chance of the Mets winning a World Series than that happening.

Democrats kill babies, and protect murderers. It’s not hard to see who they identify with.

How come liberals don't care when scumbags like Timothy McVeigh got the death penalty? Where were the activists then?

Oh I see, he was a "right-wing" extremist (actually, he was not, but I digress).

I think the last Gov who did that was Ryan in IL, who later went to jail. Unrelated matter of course, that was for corruption not for being a fricking moron.

What the hell difference does it make?

It's been the law of the land for decades, and the Left refused to implement it.

Yep, Republican Leftists too...

We made it very clear we wanted the death penalty by removing our California Supreme Court Chief Justice and two others California Supreme Court Justices on the very same election day, based on that very issue.

The date was November 4th, 1986. LINK

The last capital execution took place on Jan. 17, 2006. LINK

Only 13 executions have been carried out since 1978, when the death penalty was reinstated in California.

We have over seven hundred people on death row, convicted of some of the most despicable crimes known to man.

The bleeding hearts just love to defend them. https://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article227491659.html

Newsom says the death penalty system has discriminated against mentally ill defendants and people of color,

and mentally ill people of color have practically no chance at all.

California voters both rejected repeal of the death penalty in 2016 and voted to expedite it, but of course that means nothing to King Newsom.

The voters of California supported the death penalty less than three years ago. Not that it matters to people like Newsom.
