Missouri Senate Bans All Federal Gun Control Laws in Proposed Bill
The Sentinel ^ | March 19, 2019 | Max Headroom

Missouri may have just made the most monumental step towards freedom and individual liberty since the signing of the Bill of Rights. In an upcoming vote by Missouri’s state senate, the state is expected to pass a bill that would nullify ALL Federal gun laws and regulations, and make enforcement of those laws by federal officers within the State of Missouri a criminal offense. Republicans control both U.S. Senate seats and more than two-thirds of the seats in both the Missouri House and Senate.

Like it’s predecessor, SB613, Bill SB367 and it’s companion, House Bill HB786, would prevent all state agencies and their employees from enforcing any federal law that infringes the Second Amendment in any way, including gun registrations, fees, fines, licenses and bans. Originally authored in 2014, a former version of the bill was also passed, but vetoed by then Missouri Governor Jay Nixon.

A stipulation of the newly passed bill states:

“All federal acts, laws, executive orders, administrative orders, court orders, rules, and regulations, whether past, present, or future, which infringe on the people’s right to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the United States I and Section 23 of the Missouri Constitution shall be invalid in this state, shall not be recognized by this state, shall be specifically rejected by this state, and shall be considered null and void and of no effect in this state.”

For added measure, SB367’s authors went into great detail on what federal laws will be “considered null and void and of no effect.”

(a) Any tax, levy, fee, or stamp imposed on firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition not common to all other goods and services which might reasonably be expected to create a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by law-abiding...

Went down in flames. Too many lefties with guns. That bill was the wet dream of a bunch of Lake Oswego high school kids.

See also Missouri House Bill 11-08. It's the one that REQUIRES all Missourians of military age to obtain and keep an AR-15 type rifle for any necessary duty in an emergency.

The Second Amendment should help in this case. I don’t see how the federal government can make any guns laws considering they are forbidden to by the Constitution.

An act of the legislature repugnant to the Constitution is void.

-U.S. Supreme Court, Marbury v. Madison, 5 U.S. 137, 1803

An unconstutional act is not law; it confers no rights. It imposes no duties, affords no protection; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation as though it had never been passed.

- Norton v Shelby County, 118 U.S. 425, 1886

The next appointment by Trump will seal the deal.

Maybe, if it's Hardiman. But if Ruth Bader-Meinhoff is the next to assume room temperature, President Trump will be under enormous pressure to replace her with a female justice, because Ginsberg was a woman, and women deserve a female replacement for *the woman's seat* on the Court.*.

Of course, he might as well poke all his foes in the eye with a sharp stick in one fell swoop. I suspect as much will be made of the replacement's views on Roe v. Wade as over the Second Amendment. We shall see.

Is something wrong with Barrett? I am leery of women justices too, however, there ARE women who love the Second Amendment and our right to keep and bear arms. ………...like ME.

Amy Coney is married to Jesse M. Barrett, an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana. That district has not been particularly friendly to Hoosier supporters of the Second Amendment.

That does not mean that her decisions on the Supreme Court would necessarily mirror her husband's past record, but her history is absent of any particularly supportive writings on the matter as well. INgo.

I agree. It is up to the SC to uphold the entire Constitution AS Written.
