I'm with you on both those statements... but I think I can go one better. I wear an example of one of President Reagan's ties. I used to shop for all my clothes in the National Capitol Region (worked there for over twenty years). Just by chance, I picked out a duplicate!
Still own it. Like you, don't wear ties much.
I have a similar tie - since ties don’t go with jeans and T-shirts, I have about zero need for them these days...
