Chris Evans, Avenger and overall number one Chris, may have to snap his finger and turn his Tom Brady fandom into dust if the superstar quarterback continues to support President Donald Trump.
The revelation came in a wide-ranging interview with The Hollywood Reporter, pegged to the upcoming Avengers: Endgame which is projected to make roughly a bajillion dollars at the box office this summer.
When asked if he would play Brady in a biopic, Evans, who has been vocal about his love of the Patriots, said:
"I don't know," he says. "I really hope he's not a Trump supporter. I'm just hoping he's one of those guys that maybe supported him and now regrets it. Maybe he thought it was going to be different — and even that bothers me — but maybe there's a chance now he just thinks Trump's an absolute dumb shit, which he is. If he doesn't, if he's still on that Trump train, I might have to cut ties. It's really tough."
"I think maybe a couple of years ago," he continues, "I might have tried to pull some, like, mental gymnastics to compartmentalize, but I don't know if I can anymore. So I'm just hoping he's woken up."

The whole Brady-Trump thing goes way back to 2015 when a red Trump MAGA hat was spotted in Brady's locker. Trump has long embraced Brady's apparent support, name-dropping the QB frequently. Brady, for his part, has remained mum, which is probably smart given everything Trump has done.
Elsewhere in the Evans interview, he discusses his outspoken political presence on Twitter, saying Marvel has never gotten upset with his anti-Trump tweets.

Evans admits he does worry about certain fans but stands by his decision to speak openly, saying, "You don't want to alienate half your audience. But I'd be disappointed in myself if I didn't speak up. Especially for fear of some monetary repercussion or career damage — that just feels really gross to me."
After supporting Hillary Clinton in 2016, Evans hasn't declared yet who he supports in the 2020 race. In the meantime, though, he's gone to bat for Cool Ranch Doritos, so he's not going quietly into that good night.

I like his acting. I also like the way my mechanic fixes my car.
I don’t care about either of their political leanings. And, my car guy has helped me out more times than Chris Evans.
Politics is a small part of life. Someone who has tens of millions of dollars can indulge themselves like Evans, a vast majority of the rest of us find ways to get along.

Back in the golden era of Hollywood, the studios kept a rein on their stable of actors under contracts. They could not do what they do today by running their mouths in front of every camera and microphone in town..............

As a kid, I watched the old Captain America serials on a TV Ontario program called “Magic Shadows” (hosted by the late, great Elwy Yost). I bet those are probably still more worth watching than anything this fellow has done.
