-—Since Donald Trump Jr. first gave an impassioned and well-received speech in support of his father and conservative values...-—

I’ve been all in on Don, Jr. from the beginning. Very impressive; he’s got what it takes.

Consider my vote solid, Don!

First his personal life will have to quit being fodder for the tabloids. Only Democrats can get away with that.

It’s a free country. So Donald Jr. can do whatever he wants. But please, no. Political dynasties usually don’t work out well for the country.

Agree - if I wanted a monarchy, I'd move to the UK. However, if we do get a Trump political dynasty, at least it's likely to be Donald Junior rather than his uber-feminist liberal sister Ivanka.

Ivana Trump, a former Czechoslovakian national was lawfully resident in the US when Don Jr. was born. Czech citizenship law follows the principle of jus sanguinis, used to determine eligibility for citizenship, as is typical in Europe. Any person born to a Czech citizen is a Czech citizen at birth. Whether the person is born in the Czech Republic or elsewhere is irrelevant. What natural born citizen is born with multiple citizenships? It does not matter that Don Jr. does not and did not want it. Czech citizenship law is just as valid as our own. Our laws are similar to theirs in that regard, and our laws stipulate that any person born anywhere in the world to an US citizen is also a US citizen.

Again, Don Jr. is a citizen, by virtue of the 14th amendment, no doubt. He is NOT an Article II, section 1, clause 5 natural born citizen eligible for the POTUS.
(All trees are plants. Not all plants are trees)

I think that Don Jr. would probably be a good POTUS. I have no doubt of his patriotism and his love of this nation. None whatsoever.

But ignoring the constitutional principles that underlie the premise of Article II, Section 1, clause 5 is what gave us the grotesque anti American Marxist administration of Obama. I want to restore the constitutional understanding of NBC to minimize the likelihood of another Obama. Our constitutional republic may not survive a repeat of him.

BTW, beware people who engage in name calling rather than making coherent arguments. That is a pretty good indicator that they have no valid arguments. Even I say that there are valid beliefs on both sides of this issue. That is why the SCOTUS has Article III oversight in this constitutional matter. It should exercise that rather than ignoring it.

Seems like a great guy, but where would he represent? He isn’t from a red state and the blue states won’t vote him in.

“Don’t worry. He’s eligible.”

As one of the “lower IQ retards” (Mensa), I used to believe he, Eric, and Ivanka are ineligible, but when he hooked up with Kimberly G., I had to re-think that. She wouldn’t have glommed on to him unless he had a good chance of ending up in the White House, and I figure she did her due diligence to confirm that. She’s all about status and he’s her ticket to upward mobility.

“Birther retards, lowering the collective IQ of Free Republic since 2008.” Guess Trump used to be a “birther retard” back in the day. I hear his IQ is pretty high. I that what you call him?

He is claimed ineligible for President for some reason. His mother not a citizen matters? Don, Jr. was born in Manhattan. I do not see what makes Don, Jr. ineligible for any U.S. office.

Trump never pushed this ridiculous Vattel nonsense.

I'm going to LMAO when he mentions that his son will make a great President some day. Birther hearts are going to break all across the nation.

Referring to 2008 as the start included Trump in the mix of “birther retard” insult. Just pointing it out. Nobody was talking about DTjr then.

Birther retards?

Are you saying that the Founding Fathers who wrote the Constitution were retards?

Could you please show me where, in the constitution, it says a person who is born here, must have parents who were BOTH citizens of the USA, at the time of his birth? I’m not trying to argue with you -— I just want to know.
As far as Czech law is concerned, except for registered diplomats, or any extradition agreements we might have with them, we are not subject to Czech law, and American law takes precedent here, over theirs. But I’m no expert.

No. They were brilliant. So is the Constitution. Birthtards should read it some time.

Hilary wasn’t “from” New York, until she decided to run for Senator -——> President, from there. Don jr. can always move to whatever state he wants. FYI, though, I don’t know enough about him to say I want him to be President).
