After a week of heated protests and calls for her resignation, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and African-American leaders condemned Chicago’s police union and defended how the prosecutor’s office addressed an actor’s alleged hate crime hoax.
Foxx vowed to remain at her post during a Saturday news conference, despite intense controversy sparked in March when her office dropped a 16-count indictment that accused television actor Jussie Smollett of orchestrating a racist and homophobic attack on himself to advance his career.
Foxx declined to address “the substance of the case” with reporters gathered at the Rev. Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow/PUSH Coalition headquarters, though she’s faced mounting pressure to specify why Smollett’s prosecution was so quickly abandoned.
But U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush, activist Ja’Mal Green, Jackson and a group of other Foxx supporters blamed the city’s Fraternal Order of Police for a Monday confrontation over the Smollett case that displayed some of the city’s racial and political divisions.

Not in Chicago anymore. The Superintendent wouldn’t order it and I seriously doubt the beat cops would obey even if he did. Why should they? The SA office won’t file felony charges unless the crime is so egregious they have to.
And even when they do the judges simply release the perps on ridiculously low bail so they can go out and kill cops.

Also in today’s news: eight people, including two children, were shot and wounded this evening in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood (Rush’s district) when a group of men opened fire at an outdoor baby shower. As many as 20 children were playing in the yard and escaped injury. Word is that people in the neighborhood are refusing to cooperate with police.

Can you imagine if they all decided screw it and go on strike? I am unfortunately tied to the area due to elderly parents but if it weren’t for that I’d have been long gone.
Chicago is a war zone. only the poor stay there cuz they cant leave. The schools dont teach people to ‘get out’ of poverty and the city anymore, they teach marxism and hate. if any site should be nuked from orbit its that 15 miles between canal and cicero avenues.

I know exact.y where it is. I work there. But do try to follow me here. The logic is pretty simple.
If you make Chicago another State they get 2 Senators. Do you think they’ll send Republicans? Um. No. Not in a thousand years. That idea is as dumb as making DC or Puerto Rico a State.

Our situation is similar. Mom and dad are up there in years. They bought the house I grew up in in 72. Now they’re rattling around in a 5 bedroom house that they can’t sell. Put it on the market 2 years ago and didn’t get a single offer. Not one.
So they’re stuck. I have a younger brother who lives on the north side and he’s finally going to step up. So hopefully we can get out of here in the next year or so.

All good humor must have an element of truth to it. Hell, the cops can’t even keep a lid on it and they, supposedly anyway, have the full force of law behind them.
A few muzzies with stickers on their cars wouldn’t last 15 minutes. I’ll paraphrase Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca. “Major, there are a few neighborhoods in Chicago I’d advise you not to invade.”
