BREAKING: White House To TARGET Illegal Alien Money Transfers Out of U.S.

The White House is planning on targeting the tens of billions of dollars in "remittance payments" sent by illegal immigrants back to their home countries, in the wake of an ongoing migrant flood at the U.S. Southern border, a senior administration official told reporters Tuesday.

The plans to target remittance payments come amid a broader shakeup at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and future executive actions designed to curb illegal immigration. The situation at the southern border has escalated in recent weeks, with thousands of migrants arriving daily to claim asylum.

Officials say the illegal arrivals are spurred by loopholes in U.S. immigration law that allow family units claiming asylum to arrive illegally and still be released into the interior of the country with a work permit.

The migrants are then given a court date at some point in the future to adjudicate the asylum claim, with the vast majority failing to ultimately get a favorable asylum ruling. These migrants rarely show up for deportation, with the senior administration official calling the practice “backdoor illegal immigration.”

Potential plans against remittances could follow one or all of anti-illegal immigration group BorderPAC's recomendations:

The way they could do this is to tie the remittance transmission to an E-Verify registration. The problem would be that Western Union and the other wire services would then need to verify that the person sending the money was the same person that earned it which would be impossible. A whole new industry would emerge of US citizens or E-Verify holders that would send the money (for a small cut) to the Mexican bank. The judges wouldn’t let the government tax legitimate transfers (without some Congressional action) so the scheme would not really work.

Great but there will be 1,000 new work around money transfer apps on in the app stores in a week if this happens. The Treasury Department will have to put some real teeth into this ruling to make it work.

“Trump would invoke Section 326 of the US Patriot Act — the “know your customer” provision that requires financial institutions to know who they’re dealing with in transactions — to issue “detail regulations” under 31 CFR § 130.120-121 that would block remittance payments to Mexico from unauthorized immigrants.

The administration would then issue a rule that would include within the definition of financial institutions money transfer companies such as Western Union, include wire transfers in the statute’s scope, and require immigrants prove their lawful presence in the US before sending money.”

I think it will go to the 9th BUT which also explains why Mitch and Lindsey are in 5th gear stacking nominations to be passed quickly at the fed courts for the past 3 weeks...

He's certainly not a procrastinator.

He is a ponderer though and really tosses things around until he hits on something that will accomplish his goal.

The NYC Skating Rink Story and The DC Post Office rehab which was scheduled for demolition are two fine examples.

AND they were done for "The People".

The White House plan to go after remittance payments falls in line with a proposal from former Kansas Secretary of State ‘Kris Kobach’, who is being considered to replace outgoing DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen....

Kobach told Breitbart:

“The threat I propose is one that actually helps us if we follow through on it. That is the threat of ending remittances from the majority of people in the United States from Mexico who are here illegally,” adding “they don’t want to risk losing that massive flow of foreign capital. In most years, it’s their second biggest source of foreign capital.”

How big is this flow? A stunning $30 billion annually to Mexico ALONE…

Mexico received the most, at a record $30 billion in 2018….and the three Northern Triangle nations targeted by President Trump’s funding threat over illegal immigration, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras, received over $16 billion, according to an analysis by the Pew Research Center.

15-25% tax on all cash remittances to targeted countries

How about 15.3% social security and medicare tax withholding that applies to sole proprietors as well, unless the individuals can show that their earnings were subject to withholding by their employer.

they will likely find a way to have someone else wire the money, or give someone the cash and have them mail a check or make som esort of bank deposit transfer.

people who steal their way into our country will continue to act in such a manner in many other aspects of their lives. That’s why I don’t want them here - they care nothing about the USofA and it’s people or laws or ways, only about money and whatever else they can steal or get cheap.

Simple set of rules...

1) Only citizens or resident aliens,

2)who are not collecting government benefits,

3)and can prove a source of funds,

can remit outside the USA.

That ‘remittance’ money DOES NOT GO home to the illegal’s families.
It is paid, instead, to the coyotes (and drug gangs) that run them across the border in the first place.
It’s called THE PRICE OF ADMISSION.
I wonder what the interest rate is?
A lot of it is paid in blood, and the draped bodies of the ‘children’ dragged along and cover.

These people are SLOW. We’ve been discussing this topic for years, and those in the Administration finally figured it out. Proof positive these assholes are paid too much.

The evil Trump, at it again. On the other hand, you need identification and a tax id to open a bank account. Why is wiring money different? I know why, but identification is a reasonable request, they’re taking dollars out of the country, not voting. What could be the objection? If they’re not breaking the law being here illegally, they’re all tourists not working here, they’ll comply with the law and take their money back with them when their vacation is over.
