Acting U.S. Defence Secretary Patrick Shanahan has approved a request (on 9 April) to identify places to potentially house up to 5,000 unaccompanied migrant children, the Pentagon said on Wednesday. In March, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) requested Pentagon support to identify locations to house unaccompanied migrant children through Sept. 30.

Sounds like serious resourcing is being arranged for a new policy.

Maybe that is why new leadership is coming to DHS.

How about these places? Mexico. Guatemala. Nicaragua, and whatever other country that owns them. They are NOT ours, so GET OUT.

Shouldn't they be turned over to the ambassador from their nation?

How about just Mexico? It would be cheapest to just deposit them on Mexican soil and let them sort it out.

Make 500 of these boats and fill them up and send them to Puerto Rico where they can have a brand new start. Then give Puerto Rico its independence.

Send them to the homes of all the Democrats, RINOS, and Federal Judges who undermine the President’s immigration steps.

May I suggest the Federal Courthouse in Los Angeles and San Francisco, send a bunch of those FEMA trailers with poison drywall to the Courthouse parking lots so the Judges can use them to hold court in.

In the Texas Hill Country the feds previously housed them at the area’s pricey Summer Camps. They had to vacate by the end of May for the folks who pay $5,000 a week to send their kids to camp.

Wonder what those parents would think of their kids sleeping on the same bunks that two weeks prior were being used by kids who sometimes were communicable disease vectors?

Our sheriff/local law enforcement/county government only became aware of this when some of the illegal immigrants ran away from the camps.

We could probably economically charter cruise ships to run a weekly East Coast milk run between Galveston and Puerto Cortés in Honduras, and a West Coast run from Long Beach to Puerto Quetzal in Guatemala.

Yes, and for every ten used as a dormitory, open one up as a temporary courtroom to clear out the backlog of cases and send ‘em back home.

What is that going to do? With an influx of ~ 100,000 family units per month you need about 500,000 housing units... or ten times more.

“the feds previously housed them at the area’s pricey Summer Camps.”

..and resort hotels.

That was started by the Obama Administration. In the past (such as the Mariel boatlift from Cuba), military bases were used.

Maybe some National Guard or Reserve mobilization sites could be used for basic logistic support and security, with trailers, containerized housing units, or even tents set up in a field on base, with a fence around them.
