Kaitlyn laughed and said yeah, the air force, most of them never even been in a plane much less flew one.

I served 22 years in the US Air Force. I did not fly.

However, the aircraft cannot fly either, without all the work that goes on below them.

And a base can still be over run, shelled, bombed and mortared, because the enemy knows the flyers rely on the supporters on the ground.

Of course. Anyone who doesn’t understand that is an occasio.

Thank you for your service.

The Air Force joke was said on an NCIS episode.

I repeated it for Kaitlyn and she knew right away. No offense intended, but it is evidently a standing marine joke.

And thank you for your service, btw.

Now the Air Force, that’s where my granddaughter belongs.

I keep thinking, not that I don’t love them, but the marines?

Yes she had to stand guard duty in the pouring rain, at night, no umbrella. She had to do that thing on the ladder, moving across the rungs by her hands.

She has to lead whatever they call that thing where they march and the leaders calls out “ATTENTHUT”.

Every time I walk to her I expect she’ll tell me she dropped out. A whole bunch of her friends and a cousin have already dropped out.

But she seems to love it.

You ought to see how she has to do her hair. She can wear makeup but only if told in advance. She wore makeup for the “mess”.

Anyway, let me shut up....but this is a 15 year old with a crazy mother....let us not forget that. Her mother is at her favorite mental institution, Sheppherd-Pratt in Baltimore, right now.

Kaitlyn had to rent an Uber to go visit.

How could her mother abandoned that precious child to go live with the crazy people?

And why does the gubmint let her do this. I figured it out, so far us taxpayers have paid over a million dollars for my daughter’s endless vacations at Sheppherd-Pratt.

She even has her own parking space!

In the Army just 15% represent infantry, the other 85% represent support, in the Marines those who are combat troops is at 12%, meaning 88% are support troops and do not see any action.
