In this new century, there are a daunting number of important issues which are to be confronted if we are to progress as a nation. Each must be addressed thoroughly and energetically. But in order to accomplish the collective goals of our society, we must first address how we deal with issues. We must re-examine the psychological and political climate of American politics. As it stands, our future is at risk due to a troubling tendency towards cynicism among voters and elected officials. The successful resolution of every issue before us depends on the fundamental question of public integrity.
A new attitude has swept American politics. Candidates have discovered that is easier to be elected by not offending anyone rather than by impressing the voters. Politicians are rushing for the center, careful not to stick their necks out on issues. Most Democrats shy away from the word “liberal” like a horrid accusation. Republican presidential hopeful George W. Bush uses the centrist rhetoric of “compassionate conservatism” while Pat Buchanan, once considered a mainstream Republican, has been driven off the ideological edge of the G.O.P. Just as film producers shoot different endings and let test audiences select the most pleasing, some candidates run “test platforms” through sample groups to see which is most likely to win before they speak out on major issue. This disturbing trend reveals cynicism, a double-sided problem, which is perhaps, the greatest threat to the continued success of the American political system.

The writing is not impressive. It is almost childish. Buttigieg praises socialism and Bernie Sanders in an essay that would not win anything in an honest world.
Buttigieg's father was a Marxist professor. But how did the 18 year old get the connection to Sanders and the Kennedys to win an award for something so poorly written.
Someone must have fixed the judging in favor of Buttigieg. It would be interesting to know how that happened.
Prepared for this a long time ago, like a certain mixed race ex president.

Just read it. Man, this simple-minded paean to Bernie Sanders was the winning entry? What the hell were the losing entries like? The Kennedys were either drunk when they were judging this, or, more likely outsourced the judging to some of their leftist minions.

The judging of the contest was obviously fixed to let 18 year old Buttigieg win.
My question is who fixed it and why.
And who is orchestrating this failed small city Mayor’s presidential campaign.
Look at the article’s bibliography. Of course, researching and reporting only on left wing (socialist) ideals will yield a paper that is left wing and socialist. The paper is just an editorial for the left, not a careful analysis of reality.
Should make the debates interesting. “Mayor Buttigieg, nineteen years ago you practically worshipped Senator Sanders as your idol. So why are you running against him now?”

It’s becoming more and more evident that a number of people have attained status through being elevated within the academic world because of money and/or ideology. And NOT because of their intellect or by hard work.
I believe that other than STEM students who actually have skills that can be identified and enumerated a LOT of the people we see in areas of influence have arrived where they are through nefarious means. Or, they simply ala John Kerry have the connections to go far just because they are who they are by birth.
The recent scandal where the Hollywood types have bought their offspring a ticket to the big show in life is for sure the tip of the proverbial iceberg. There has been a lot of that type of garbage going on for generations, obviously. That’s how we end up with idiots in places of power. Couple this paid for Caucasian affirmative action by purchase with affirmative action by race and we end up with what? Easy answer - Democrats.
Like so many things that feed off the backs of taxpayers the aforementioned garbage has been hidden from view. Kind of like a secret email server stashed away in a hidey hole as it chews and spits state secrets. A treasonous system hid by an equally daft and stupid woman who attained her status in life because she was married to a glorified used car salesman. But something Godly and magical happened. Something so amazing that if you were to look at most of the posts on this site up to 36 months ago all you would have bet on back then was the end of the USA.
Then Trump was elected and like the curtain being pulled back to show the wizard pulling the levers the walls (pun intended) have started to come tumbling down. I can give you examples of where I have seen prayers answered time and time again in my life. Trump was the answer to prayers.
Thieves, like cockroaches, can’t stand the light of day. In my wildest dreams I could never have predicted that such light would start to shine again on this great country. There is a very large group of Godless people in the country, those are the ones screaming bloody hell over Trump. And as strange as it may seen the people that would normally be able to hide in the shadows or in plain site are coming out to beat their chests like the overblown Mayor Pete devoid. Him and AOC’s and others are stepping out in to the sunlight. Why? God only knows because apparently he wants them to and because of that we see their sickness on display. Do they really think most of the country wants what they are selling? Baby killing, socialism, thinking they can change the weather, etc?
Right now, today, I fell like I’m watching the ending of “It’s a Wonderful Life” where George has stepped to the edge and not only jumped off but then he is set free.
