Texas Executes White Supremacist for 1998 Dragging Death of James Byrd

John William King, 44, convicted two decades ago for killing James Byrd Jr. in an act of unfathomable racist brutality in the small town of Jasper, was put to death by the State of Texas on Wednesday night with a dose of pentobarbital.

The execution, carried out at the state’s death chamber in Huntsville, came after the United States Supreme Court turned down Mr. King’s last petition for a stay. He was pronounced dead at 7:08 p.m., said Jeremy Desel, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Mr. King kept his eyes closed as witnesses arrived to the execution chamber on Wednesday, The Associated Press reported. When the prison warden, Bill Lewis, asked him if he had any final words, Mr. King said, “No.”

Mr. King made a final statement issued in writing, Mr. Desel said. “Capital Punishment: Them without the capital get the punishment,” it said.

The leftists may not be entirely wrong on this one. The rich and well connected can get away with murder.

20 years of Judges, Humping the Coconut,

to get every drop out of this brutal dragging victim.

The Judges probably bought new RVs and home additions, dragging his body throw the bloody street.

in an act of unfathomable racist brutality...
Not to excuse the crime in any way, but it wasn't at all "unfathomable." At least one of the perpetrators had been routinely raped by black inmates while serving a prior prison sentence. He developed a blind hatred of all black men and vowed to get revenge. His eventual victim "was in the wrong place at the wrong time." (Sound familiar?)

“Capital Punishment: Them without the capital get the punishment,”

Clever. Not.

NEVER read that.

Of course it doesn’t excuse the horrific crime.

But why are so many muzzies who do carnage labeled “mentally unstable” barely before any facts are in after attacks?

Is it racist that they did not execute him for racism instead?

No. It was white privilege that he was not executed for racism.

Because when judged by Western standards of . . . psychology, emotional maturity, whatever . . . many non-Westerners are NOT sane. In other words, they simply aren’t like us. If we expect them to think and behave as we do, naturally they’ll come up wanting. Saddam Hussein, for example, was a blood-thirsty tyrant, but only a blood-thirsty tyrant is suited to rule a violent, tribal population. He was perfect, in his way. Once he was toppled, Iraq descended into sectarian madness. The idea that all the world’s cultures can be made to appreciate the glories of enlightened self-rule is a pipedream. I’m convinced our own remarkable experiment may be coming to an end as non-white, non-Western people are allowed to flood into the country. We are no longer a single, unified population with shared values. We’re also no longer a moral, upright people, but that’s another matter . . .

I agree

But I still think it would be a great idea to take our Declaration of Independence and changing the names spread it to other countries and give them the idea that they could be self determined and free.

Yeah I was foolish enough to think that democracy would flourish in Iraq.

Perhaps if it was handled better.

But I think not.

I have two questions, both related to the fact that his guilt was never seriously questioned.

1) The other parter in this crime with a death sentence was executed in 2011, why did this take so long?

2) Why does the state of Texas use lethal injection? Why couldn’t this man have simply been hung by the neck until dead?

1) Some cases take longer to exhaust the appeals process than others.

2) Texas went to lethal injection as an alternative to the electric chair, in part because it was deemed more humane.

Rodney Hulin set a dumpster on fire in his neighborhood. Despite being only 16 years old, he was sentenced to eight years in an adult prison,

It seems pretty likely there is a lot more to that story.

That said, it is unlikely he deserved to be left with the rapist ferals.

BTTT
Worth repeating imho:
Winston Churchill said that the manner in which a society treats criminals “is one of the most unfailing tests of the civilization of any country.” As Congress rushes to complete its work before the election recess, it is important that they take the time to deal with the scandal of prison rape, and, in doing so, meet Churchill’s test of a civilized society.

Remember the left playing the race card with this murder back in 2000? It was a dirty, disgusting ad. It wasn’t good enough that they pursued and got the death penalty.
