An expert who has been working with the Boy Scouts revealed that there may have been as many as 7,819 allegedly sexually abusive troop leaders and volunteers in the storied organization, according to newly released court documents.
More than 7,800 individuals allegedly abused 12,254 victims, according to the court testimony.

“We care deeply about all victims of child abuse and sincerely apologize to anyone who was harmed during their time in Scouting. We believe victims, we support them, and we have paid for unlimited counseling by a provider of their choice,” the organization said in a statement to ABC News. “Nothing is more important than the safety and protection of children in Scouting and we are outraged that there have been times when individuals took advantage of our programs to abuse innocent children.”
Of course, there's no mention of opening the BSA to homosexuals and doing things like handing out condoms at jamborees. There is, however, one sentence that hints this is a mostly recent development, "Warren’s number shows a significant jump in that number [of abuse cases] and Anderson is calling for the Boy Scouts of America to make the list public."
All of these “trends” (aka Slippery Slope) were predicted here in FR since the founding of the website.
If only Boy Scout leaders were allowed to marry, this wouldn’t have happened.

It’s been going on for years. I was molested by Scoutmaster in the 60’s as well as some of the rest of the troop.
Troop was sponsored by the Catholic parish no less.
Unlike so many Hollywood types, I don’t believe it was a huge deal that ruined the rest of my life. Just an unhappy memory that I wrote off as being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
It would be nice to see the BSA leaders, like Tillerson, held personally liable for much of what’s happened, since this is exactly what was predicted, with the RC Church as an example.
If only boy scout troop leaders could marry. Then, this problem would go away.
These go back quite a ways. I wonder what the total is when second or third generation victims are added in as well. Let alone the unreported plus their second and third generation victims.
Amen and it is seriously depressing. The left knows how to game the system and the political wing of our side (the GOP) goes along with it.
When I was in Boy Scouts, the wonderful leaders decided to retire and concentrate on their own families and they brought in a new one.
One day, the parents and the associated Church had a meeting and the guy was gone.
I never figured out why but I’m pretty sure I know why.
