(CNN)Those little shampoo bottles offered in hotel bathrooms, used once or twice and then usually tossed in the trash, could soon be a thing of the past in California.
State lawmakers are considering a bill that would ban hotels from providing guests with small plastic bottles for soap, shampoo and conditioner. The proposed law, which would go into effect in 2023, would instead encourage hotels to provide the products in bulk dispensers to reduce plastic waste.
Assembly Member Ash Kalra of San Jose co-authored the bill, known as AB 1162, which would apply to all lodging establishments. Kalra said that small plastic bottles under 12 ounces represent a sizable amount of waste and that his bill would reduce the problem.

While California is doing that, New York needs to ban the beer can paper bags. In NY, you can only drink in public if your beverage is in a paper bag. Not that any of us know what’s in those bags. Imagine how many trees could be saved, correcting global warming.
Maybe a walk down Santa Monica Blvd?...
As long as they don’t ban the little bottles of personal lube.

Do you own a business? You only think you own it. You dont. The government does. It skims the profits, tells you how much to charge, who you must hire. It micromanages your business and tells you what your bathrooms must look like.
You do all the work and bear all the risk. The government gets its money no matter what.
Check your premises.
Lets see......8+2+6 = 10. This new math is a killer
The same bottles the Girl Scouts collect to give to homeless shelters, etc.?
and their profit margin on your labor and risk and work is far higher than yours.
Last couple of hotels I stayed at had refillable dispensers. I always take my own stuff so never use their stuff anyway.
The 8 in Asia is 6 in China (part of Asia, last I checked) and 2 in India (also part of Asia, last I checked...)
I still think this is wrong, the Mekong has to be in there somewhere! Maybe it’s counted as Chinese since its headwaters are in China?
Cannot take more than 3 oz of anything thru TSA anyway.
It's nearly all pure profit for them. They don't contribute to your payroll, they don't contribute to your inventory. They don't contribute to your building rent/mortgage/upkeep.
One could argue that they provide infrastructure, if they ignore the fact that you as a taxpayer pay for the roads, water, gas, electric, sewer, mail service and hired muscle...
They’re still straightening the teacups on the Titanic, I see.
