Eduard Bernstein doesn’t get mentioned much. He was a German politician who believed that socialism could be achieved by peaceful means through incremental legislative reform in democratic societies, according to Wikipedia.

I go more with religion. Humanist Progressive. They have rather non-specified but understood beliefs, and do many things regularly and in unison (TV programs, websites, talking points, etc.).
The cultish part is on our schools, with direct one-on-one indoctrination by teachers and prof’s.
Seems an odd example. Thought it was pretty well established he was executed outside Jerusalem and not the least controversial. Have never heard of a theory that he died in Nazareth, but am curious about evidence.

This is also why Hillary was exonerated by Comey in spite of overwhelming evidence of her committing multiple crimes for which anyone else would have spent the rest of their days in prison. And this is why the Democrats still want to impeach President Trump even though there is zero evidence of him committing any crimes—just governing conservatively means he has evil motives. To the left conservatism automatically = racist = murderous hatred for minorities. The motive always exists and they just need to look for the crimes they already know happened. The president could not have been any more clear on the Charlottesville conflict, but the Deep State Media and current Democrat presidential candidates continue to blatantly lie about what he said because they already know he is racist no matter what he said.
I wouldn't mind testing out that theory personally...

For a civilization to develop a tribe has to figure out how to keep envy from getting out of control because it destroys. Leftism is a way for those on the left side of the bell curve to channel their envy, even feel good about it. Only like envy, leftism destroys everything it touches.
The right is probably too worried about the left. The left is their own worst enemy. Just give leftists everything they want and they will destroy themselves. Fortunately leftists are increasingly concentrating themselves in high density death zones, called cities, where they go to die off.
Whether its socialism or Gaia Worship or a combination of the two, it is undoubtedly a religion.....a failed 19th century secular religion.
