Rep. Schiff: Revive Congressional Power To Imprison People In Contempt, Hold "Mini-Trial"
RCP Video ^ | 5-9-2019 | Ian Schwartz

(snip)

REP. ADAM SCHIFF (D-CA): You know, the remedies that we have are the same as the Judiciary Committee and the same as the Ways And Means Committee. They're violating the statute, we can enforce it in court but that takes time.

That really doesn't necessarily change in an impeachment proceeding where they can fight us likewise but there is another remedy that I think we really need to consider that maybe even quicker than an impeachment proceeding or the court proceeding and that is reviving Congress' inherent power of contempt, something we utilize up until the 1930s where we in effect do our own judicial proceeding in the Congress, have a little mini-trial in the Congress and hold people in contempt and responsible and compel their production without even going to court. Now, it used to be we imprisoned people but we could also fine them $25,000 a day until they comply or some other number. That may be an even swifter remedy if we need to embark on it and we may have to.

Guys, this has to be seen to believe it. And notice RadCow at the end about Schiff: "You make news every time you're on the show, sir. appreciate you."

What other cockamamie scheme can Schiff-for=brains come up next? And this guy has the grandiose delusion to be the POTUS. (*shuddering thought)

Remember when the media stoked all these visions and fears of Trump coming in and running things like a Nazi?

As usual in US Politics, the shoe is always on the foot of the democrat accusers.

The downfall of the American Republic began when we abandoned the practice of Tar and Feathers.

Think about it -

A Congress (political body) with 50.1% majority can imprison anybody with opposition views and hold a mini-court trial. Otherwise, THEY can ruin anybody financially with hefty “fines”.

“Schiff-for-brains”.....

Go ahead, Schaff. Other things you party has done, like the nuclear option and ‘special prosecutor” have worked so well for you.

Another example of the many things which are bad only when Republicans want to do them.

He’s correct, actually. Congress does have the inherent power to jail people. It’s a pity the Republicans never did it when they had the chance.

And so the purge begins. Paraphrasing, they came for the Attorney General and I did nothing, for I was not the Attorney General. The time of reckoning is close at hand. Do nothing and you will be in chains.

No need for a CWII, only make the traitors pay.

Thus the call to revive dueling.

Only the guilty are at risk and the logistics of battle lines are easier.

The problem that the dems have is twofold.

First of all, they are worried.
They probably should be. What goes around...

Secondly, they’re really starting to look bad.
This is obvious to us, but not to the numb-bots plugged into the nightly news. Well, not until recently.

So the second point is that the dems are not just worried about what is coming down the pike, but about the politics of 2020. Trump isn’t looking like the bad guy that they and the media made him out to be.

WE ARE BEING TROLLED INTO OVER-REACTING!

As soon as the DOJ flies off and attacks Nadler or Schiff in their own defense, they will be made to look like they are taking over the government.

These threats are just to cause an overreaction.

That is why I am encouraged when Barr nonchalantly scoffs.
