So? Dude's gotta look good. If it's not a regular expense, I got no issue with this.
$18,300 for car and driver
Same thing here. Over what period of time? A month? That might be excessive. A year? Less so, in fact, leaning toward miserly.
NRA says board has full confidence in him
Me too. Wayne has done Yeomans Work for the NRA.
oh the drama!
> Wayne LaPierre expensed $39,000 in clothes in one day,
So? Dude’s gotta look good. <
Well, okay. But I wonder how it would go if 1,100 NRA members received this letter: “Thank you for your $35 dues. We will be using your money to buy Wayne some new shirts.”
I’m guessing that the letter wouldn’t be very well received.
Side note: You’re right about the WSJ being biased. So I’ll qualify my above remarks by saying: If the story is true...
Something tells me that the car and driver was actually security for his NRA tour of Europe. Dont have a problem with that one. Custom made suits run $3,500 a piece. Custom shirts around $400 each. I need more information.
A dude can look good and still not spend $39,000 in a “boutique”. Wayne’s got to go.
Bullet proof suits aint cheap!
I doubt Ive spent $39,000 on clothes in the last 15 years.
Bye bye, Wayne.

I just purchased a new Jeep Compass in one day and didn't spend that amount of money..........
I do have a major issue of $39K in clothes and being billed to the NRA............I wouldn't have a problem if he shopped for clothes at Cabela's rather than Barney's of New York.............
Agreed. The NRA has been extremely helpful in protecting gun rights. There is a reason the Left hates it so much.
And Wayne has done a good job and the terms give him a clothing allowance.
39,000 for clothing is not unusual. I have a friend who makes suits for wall streeters. In 2008 he was charging 25,000 per suit and there are many others who do the same work as there is good demand. I am good with that expenditure.
