Central American Towns Empty As Migrants Rush To U.S. Border Loopholes
Breitbart ^ | 5-21-2019 | Neil Munro

Posted on 05/21/2019 11:35:12 AM PDT by blam

Guatemala’s towns are emptying out as a growing number of migrants head north to accept the Democratic Party’s offer of open-border loopholes and low-wage jobs, say a growing number of local reports.

Roughly one percent of Guatemala’s population has migrated to the United States’ border since September 2018, according to the Department of Homeland Security. That adds up to roughly 170,000 migrants, and roughly one-third of those migrants come from the neighboring rural districts of Huehuetenango and San Marcos.

The result of this U.S. government policies is that many villages are with empty homes, fatherless families, absent men, and minimal investment. The Wall Street Journal reported:

COLOTENANGO, Guatemala—Gloria Velásquez is used to saying goodbye. Four of her six siblings have migrated to the U.S. and she, too, is thinking about heading north with her 9-year-old daughter.

Ms. Velásquez said her four siblings in the U.S. are encouraging her to join them. Her daughter Helen Ixchel likes to teach language and mathematics to fellow children. She wants to learn English and become a teacher.

“I’m a bit scared [about going to the U.S.] after hearing all the news about the suffering of migrants at the border. But it’s my daughter’s greatest dream,” Ms. Velásquez said.

This massive loss of young people minimizes opposition to the country’s weak government and deters foreign investment in the nation. Without the promise of foreign investment and new jobs in the nation’s main cities, the next cohort of young men rationally look north for jobs.

“Santa Rosa fits the DHS statistics perfectly,” says a May 17 report from Sara Carter.

You are 100000% right that the President has the power to do it. And any other President other than this one would have probably been able to do it.

POTUS has the authority, and the power, to prevent them from making it onto US soil.....your words....tell me how he is supposed to do that. Tell me. A-10s flying into Mexico and straffing the caravans with some 30mm? How about some napalm? He threatened to close the border and the Republican’s in Congress went after him. So, Genius, tell me how he is supposed to do it.

Is he supposed to put a 2000lb JDAM through the roofs of the leaders of Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala? Personally, I’d love it if that happened.

Congress gave the President the power to forbid entry....how many people would it take to completely cover the border, so no one could cross? What are the Rules of Engagement? How will the volunteers be treated, because you’re going to need volunteers, if they shoot someone? Tell me how you forbid entry? I’m not talking about the official ports of entry. I’m talking about the unsecured areas, ranches that are on the border, the river. Tell me how you prevent those people from crossing. A wall? Really. The one that Congress won’t give him the money for? The one, that when the Republican’s controlled all three branches, they still wouldn’t fund it? That wall?

How is he unilaterally allowed to overturn Birthright Citizenship? Please, tell me how he gets to do that. Does he declare it, gone? And then he gets sued in the 9th Circuit. They side against him, reinstating the process. It then goes to SCOTUS, if they’ll hear it, where he has a 50/50 chance of it, FINALLY, being decided on. IF you were him, would you be willing to take the chance of that going bad, with Ginsburg still there and Roberts? I wouldn’t. I’d be waiting til she leaves so I can get Barrett on the court, knowing I would win.

While he has the ability to shut it down, if they make it onto US soil and ask for asylum, they get to stay. THAT IS THE LAW. The law they’ve been taught how to exploit. He is trying to get these laws changed. Who writes and votes on the laws? Not the President. Congress. The House. The Senate. The very same people that obstruct everything he tries.

I want the border shut down as much as anyone. I’d love to see the entire system shut down. Refugee, Student visa’s, work visas, legal immigration. Every bit of it. ‘

Only way you get into the country is on a tourist visa, to see family or you have some type of business meeting. And every visit is tracked by DHS and if you don’t show up when you’re supposed to, they come and get you.

The man is blocked by his own party, the Democrats, the Governors of the states that he needs help from, the Media. All while trying to renegotiate horrific trade deals, lower taxes, prevent war with Iran, Russia, China.

Fight off complete and total subversion from the bureaucratic nightmare that is the federal government.

And lets not forget about a certain 2yr old investigation into absolutely nothing, that ended with nothing.

If he had a minimal amount of support in his first two years, we wouldn’t be discussing this. But he didn’t. And that is partly on us for not holding our representatives and Senators accountable and putting pressure on them.

Now, if a million or two supporters showed up in DC for a rally on closing the border, some rallies around the country also in support, something might get done. What’s the likelihood of that happening.

Oh wait.....I did my part in November 2016, let him handle it while I crack open another beer and put my feet up. You go ahead and sleep peacefully at night thinking the guy can spread some fairy dust and shut down the border. The man needs support that he is not getting, from anyone.

cobol. That's your ignorant response? Some juvenile internet meme?

And name calling? How very adult of you.

It's no wonder you sheep are so incredibly ignorant. You're deliberately obtuse. You encounter "facts" and instead of intelligent dialogue, you whine about your monologue.

People like you are what allowed the 'e' in "GOPe."

Lou, you’re pathetic. Obviously you have zero understanding of how things work in the real world. But by all means, stay in your little bubbly echo chamber.

It’s really not worth dialoging with you. Bless your heart!

You should shut up since you have nothing to offer other than to parade how incredibly stupid you are. Consider the following, you witless moron.

Read the law. It's law passed by Congress giving the POTUS the authority to unilaterally forbid immigrants/invaders entry into America.

8 U.S.C. s 1152(a)(1)

From the above: "Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate."

Congress gave the President the power to forbid entry into the USA of any immigrant according to the above law.

He also has the power to order troops to the border, as he has done. He has already ordered troops to the border, but only in a impotent capacity. If he can order ten soldiers, he can order 10,000 soldiers. If he can order 10,000 soldiers, he can order them to be armed and have some teeth. He just has to do it. He can prevent anymore incursions onto American soil. If he'll just do it.

The fed judge hacks have countermanded some things, but they cannot stop him from performing the above.

Meanwhile, millions, MILLIONS of these crimigrants are coming across our border.

But, bushbots like you, er, trumpbots like you are deliberately obtuse and can't be bothered with anything so mundane as actual research.

I'll tell you what's going on. Trump wants what every first term president wants, viz. a second term. He knows that the immigration crisis is what got him elected, and he's parlaying that crisis into a second victory.

What can he do? He can deploy as many troops as necessary on the southern border as it takes. The invaders keep coming because there is literally no resistance for them to do such.

Stop making excuses for him. He assured us he was America's salvation. He either lied about it, knowing he couldn't do it, or he truly didn't know he couldn't do it. Either way, one is as bad as the other.

I do my level best to not insult people on a personal level on FR. I try to debate and may the best argument win. So, COBOL2Java.

HOW IN THE FUCK IS HE SUPPOSED TO DECLARE A NATIONAL EMERGENCY WHEN HE GETS NO FUCKING HELP FROM ANYONE. NO ONE.

ARE YOU WILLING TO GRAB YOUR RIFLE AND GO DOWN THERE ON YOUR TIME AND SECURE THE BORDER.

ARE YOU WILLING TO RUN FOR CONGRESS AND HELP THE MAN.

All of you think the guy can just spread some fairy dust and all will be right with the world. First off, he JUST got done dealing with Mueller and now he has to deal with Nadler and all that BULLSHIT.

He did it and it was challenged ...

https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/02/15/government-shutdown-trump-declare-emergency-get-wall-funding/2859532002/ from the article...

The emergency declaration is expected to create an extended legal and political battle. Trump himself predicted the issue would end up before the Supreme Court.

He wanted to close the border in April....what happened then, Genius?

https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/04/04/ted-cruz-trump-border-closing-would-devastating-texas/3362333002/ ..... from the article... Sen. Ted Cruz joined other congressional Republicans representing border states Wednesday in warning President Donald Trump against closing the U.S.-Mexico border, saying such a move would be “devastating” to Texas.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/trump-100-percent-ready-shut-down-u-s-mexico-border-n990146 ..... from the article ...... “If we don’t make a deal with Congress, the border’s going to be closed,” he told reporters in the Oval Office. “100 percent.”

At almost the same time, less than two miles down Pennsylvania Avenue, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said that might be a financial disaster for Americans.

“Closing down the border would have potentially catastrophic economic impact on our country, and I would hope we would not be doing that sort of thing,” McConnell said, noting that he agrees with the president that there is “a border crisis.”

So, he gets absolutely crucified for that. Gets no help from anyone, even though he said that he would keep commerce open.

So, again, WHAT THE FUCK IS HE SUPPOSED TO DO?

What troops? National Guard? What are the rules for them? They are a state entity, if the Governors don’t let them go, does he federalize them? Who pays for it all? How long do they stay? Here are some articles detailing the quality and level of cooperation from some military leaders and Governors...

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/california-governor-order-national-guard-troops-back-border-mexico-n969906

https://www.theroot.com/new-mexico-governor-orders-national-guard-troops-back-f-1832416366 .... and this lady just secretly bused a bunch of illegals to Denver without telling the Governor or Mayor, so she’s painfully aware of the problem. But for her, it’s all about screwing the President. Her

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtHj5ITbCss .... Rhode Island, Maryland(republican governor), North Carolina, Virginia(whose state is being overrun by MS13 and other gangs)

Do they deploy onto the South side of the Rio Grande, into Mexico? That would be an act of war? What could/would that do? Make the matters worse? Would that cause AMLO to start busing them to the border, making it worse than it already is? Would that cause an international incident?

Does he send the 82nd or the 2nd Marine Division down there? What about Posse Comitatus?

Oh wait, here’s some info on the administration challenging a court decision(not a law), a court decision, on only being allowed to keep family’s for 20 days..... https://sojo.net/articles/legal-challenges-ahead-trumps-executive-order-family-separations

You know, that was part of the law that went into effect during the clinton administration and all the way through the next two clowns, but somehow Pres Trump is the author of it.

Do you know about the Flores Settlement. Judge Dolly Gee took it upon herself to write a law, that wasn’t challenged until the current administration, forcing the release of families after 20 days. Can you guess who appointed her? It wasn’t clinton or bush. Pres Trump’s admin challenged her ruling. First stop is her courtroom. What do you think she said? Now it works its way up to the.....9th Circuit. What will happen there? Would you want to risk going to SCOTUS with Roberts and Ginsburg still there?

And now, maybe, the President and the people, might have someone else on our side.....https://www.yahoo.com/news/ag-barr-says-nationwide-rulings-hampering-trumps-agenda-010026075—politics.html?.tsrc=jtc_news_article

And you know what, of course he wants another term. Do you have someone else in mind that can do better? How about one of the 20+ clowns in the Dem party, I’m sure you’ll loving having one of them in the White House.

Look at the picture. Do these people look like the descendants of Spanish Conquistadors, or of the Amerindians that they conquered and who have never had a decent government that was not one of conquest and exploitation by the Conquistador class. Of course in the US, our own Amerindians might want to leave, but they have no place else to go that might be an improvement. Many years ago I was studying in Mexico and briefly stayed with and “old” Spanish/Mexican “family”. THey were 3 aging spinsters living in a badly deteriorated mansion. Their youngest sister had recently married a successful businessman. All they could do was remark scornfully, “Ella se caso con un INDIO.” In English, “She married an Indian.”

“Ella se caso con un INDIO.”

Heh. This morning I was explaining the difference between Indio and Guero as Mexican slang to my son. He was bored and said he already knew...

The racism of the Spaniard overclass is responsible for virtually all the ghastly poverty in Mexico and all of “Latin” America. One has to agree with AMLO that the upper class of Mexico has been exceptionally predatory, which is putting it mildly.

But the Mestizos are still a mix, and for the most part they don’t disagree with the attitudes of the gueros, they just want to BE them. So a ruthless Mestizo businessman will do anything for the guera blondina - it’s why he’s a ruthless businessman!

So to me they are all descendants of Los Conquistadors, except the 30% of Mexico that really are Indio. You’re correct that the picture shows mostly Guatemalan Amerindians, but that country and the rest of Central America is far more guero Spaniards then Indio. El Salvador even has a significant German ethnic presence, and red heads with freckles are not uncommon there!

And the Conquistadors left their culture which is all about grabbing things, anyway you can. If they can shake down the Americans for their cash and their power by guilt tripping us about “you took our land!” then we are weak and they are strong if we give in.

They will understand if we say no. In fact, they will respect that - in their country, it makes you El Jefe. You must know that if you’ve been in Mexico a lot.

And that’s why Trump is actually the best guy for us. HIM they respect - the other guys....they just want to get over on them, force them to pay La Mordida.

In one of the great ironies of life, one of the Congress vs. Trump cases is going before the DC appeals court headed by Judge Merritt Garland. Yes, that Merritt Garland, the very one that Republicans blocked from being on the Supreme Court. I wonder if he will vote the same way that McCain did after Trump called him a coward for being a prisoner of war.

Many years ago a spent some days at Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. I was surprised at the German/Swiss presence there and the availability of good vegetables to eat. I was also interested to see pure blooded Indians near San Cristobal de las Casas in southern Mexico, with their specific tribal ethnic costumes. The native huts are much more attractive than the corrugated tin roof covered shacks that the Mestizos live in.

I stayed a few days at the home of Franz Blohm (sp?)an anthropologist. In the evening he would talk with us about the indigenous cultures and their differences. They were healthier because they were not eating Western junk food. We rented horses and rode 6 miles to a native village. The alcalde (mayor) and his two deputies were the only 3 people there who spoke Spanish. The houses were attractive and carefully arranged around a large square with a church in the center. There had been no priest there since the 1930s, but the people were celebrating something and carrying litters with saints on them around the church. Most in US are not aware that several million people in Mexico and Central America speak NO Spanish. It was an eye opening experience.

He also has the power to order troops to the border, as he has done.

With ROEs to turn their weapons over to any other than US military they may encounter at the border.

Very important part here. The military is being used as window dressing and chair weights. They need to be turned loose to conduct full scale military actions as required to secure our border.

Until that happens, I will just sit back and chuckle every time someone mentions military on the border.

Most definitely. One freeper in particular was condemning my assertion as such but, he admitted that any other president could have made such orders by now.

And I contend that Trump could do likewise. I believe that Trump is deliberately stringing this along. Maybe it's because he wants to flood liberal's home cities with the problem. Maybe he's hoping to declare another emergency for another White House term. Maybe his liberal daughter is clouding his mind.

Whatever. But IMO he's definitely stringing it along. Meanwhile these millions of crimigrants are flooding across the border and we'll never get rid of them. He knows it.
