I completely agree. Hoover hated communists. And Hoover had it in for MLK because Hoover thought King was a communist. It was a biased investigation from the get-go.
Can you imagine some FBI agent going up to Hoover and saying, “Mr. Director, we have investigated King and found nothing.” That agent would be in the north Alaska field office shoveling snow the very next day.
So yeah, without corroboration this story is, at best, nothing more than speculation.
I agree this is likely smear stuff the FBI had come up with. Alveda King has spoken about how she spent a night in jail because she disobeyed MLK’s orders & broke ranks to help someone struggling with the police. He told her their behavior had to be beyond rebuke. He knew he was under surveillance. I can’t imagine him stupid enough to make silly comments about pussy eating or laughing about a rape under such conditions.
They could have had a voice actor imitating his voice for all I know.
What I do know is that LBJ was slime, and I wouldn’t put anything past him.

Interesting observation. As you said, LBJ was slime. He had no moral standards at all. And Hoover was a egotistical pig. So any investigation involving those two would be compromised from the beginning.

What “news”?
We’ve known about the coup attempt for nearly three years now. It’s not really news anymore. The world is going to keep spinning.
Now that blacks are freeing themselves from the liberal plantation it is time for the left to finish destroying any righteous legacy left in black culture. If blacks won’t submit to the Democratic Party line then it’s time to completely marginalize them.
While that is possible..too much other information out there from his own people that this is basically true.

MLK was a Christian and he compared his movement to the Exodus. Like Moses, he was leading his people to the Promised Land, ie, America is the Promised Land where equality, freedom, opportunity, justice and security from tyranny (Bill of Rights) are all gifts from God and ALL Americans have an equal right to share in those gifts.
The MLK/JFK/LBJ generation of democrats were very proud of this Judeo-Christian movement and their accomplishments.
Not so much in the current generation of democrats, They hate God. They hate Moses, they hate the Exodus, they hate the 10 commandments, they hate the bible, they hate Jesus, they hate Christians and Jews. Most of all, they hate the fact that America was founded on and our system of government, laws, freedom, equality and justice, private property and free-markets, one-man/one-woman family and our moral society are all based on Judeo-Christian foundations and principles.
The current crop of America-hating democrats will stop at nothing in their jihad to destroy all references to God or our Judeo-Christian history and all our historical heroes and that includes destroying the Declaration, the Constitution and all Judeo-Christian beliefs and principles.
Easy pickings first was to destroy and takedown all Confederate statues and memorabilia. And that includes Jefferson and other slave-holding founders, even George Washington.
Now they’ll bring down MLK and other black Christian leaders.
Even FDR. He was a Christian who often prayed on the radio for our country and our sons going into harm’s way.
It’s what Marxists do. They’ll tear down all our heroes and historical icons, burn all the books and rewrite history (air brushing out God, of course).

One thing I heard years ago is that J. Edgar used to curry favor with LBJ by coming over to the White House with edited "Best Excerpts" tapes of MLK's sex romps, and the two would listen together and ROTFL.
I’m having a lot of trouble with that rape story. Supposedly, FBI agents were in the next room recording when the rape happened.
Why were they recording? To get something on King, of course. So why didn’t they burst into the room - cameras at the ready - and arrest King? That would have destroyed him.
And please remember that this Garrow guy is reporting this based only on FBI summaries. Those agents could have written any old thing they wanted to. Garrow has not heard the tapes themselves, as they are sealed.
Oh, and one more thing. Garrow is an author. His goal is to sell books. So without solid corroboration, I am very skeptical of anything he says.

A friend of 50 years or so who is a retired Ph.d theologian and university professor tells me that he has known for many years that Boston University found that MLK had plagiarized his dissertation and revoked his doctoral degree, but replaced it with an “honorary” doctorate to save face both for him and for the university.Now, this friend of mine still loves MLK for what he did, although he was not honest in his academic work.

You are correct. MLK was probably all the things you think in these tapes, however he was non-violent and wanted integration and race made irrelevant. The left is enthralled with identity politics and the race card is and continues to be used by them for their violence and segregation. MLK is quoted by conservatives especially his content of character speech. This concept has to be eliminated and if that means trashing MLK so be it. 2020 is going to see new levels of race baiting and segregation. Imagine that the Democrats supporting segregation——again. It’s going to get really ugly the next 16 months.
