Because the Presidents personal counsel said he would make sure that the President knew that Flynns actions reflected 'hostility' towards the President. sounds like a threat of retaliation. Maybe it is normal in legal speak, and hopefully not illegal.

There's been a lot of discussion in the media over the last few weeks about whether Trump would have been prosecuted for obstruction of justice if he was anyone other than the President of the United States.
That's a legitimate topic of conversation, but it also introduces a giant red flag that should be obvious to all of us:
Nobody affiliated with Trump in these matters was prosecuted for obstruction of justice, either.
