Transcript of John Dowd's voicemail to Michael Flynn lawyer released

The transcript of a voicemail recording President Trump's legal representation left for retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn's lawyer on Nov. 22, 2017 was released on Friday.

It shows former Trump lawyer John Dowd asking for a "heads up" if Flynn knew information that "implicates" Trump after Flynn dropped from a joint defense agreement with the president and began cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

"Hey, Rob, uhm, this is John again. Uh, maybe, I-I-I-'m-I'm sympathetic; I understand your situation, but let me see if I can't...state it in...starker terms," the message said. "If you have...and it wouldn't surprise me if you've gone on to make a deal with, and, uh, work with the government, uh... I understand that you can't join the joint defense; so that's one thing. If, on the other hand, we have, there's information that...implicates the President, then we've got a national security issue, or maybe a national security issue, I don't know...some issue, we got to-we got to deal with, not only for the President, but for the country. So...uh...you know, then-then, you know, we need some kind of heads up. Um, just for the sake of...protecting all our interests, if we can, without you having to give up any...confidential information

Is this coming from the Obama FBI phone tapes of Trump and his associates?

Sounds to me like another exoneration of Trump. His lawyer obviously knew of no criminal activity.

There’s a sharp lawyer.

Why didn’t he just call a radio station instead??

NO calls are private today.

Talking in person is risky enough.

But i don’t see anything he said that is harmful to Trump

If Trump or Dowd indicated that as a result of Flynn refusing to give them a heads up, that Trump regarded Flynn as hostile AND it was improper to give such a heads up, there would seem to be a case for obstructing justice. Mueller alleges that. So why is THIS the part of the conversation we got? Where’s the part that vindicates or condemns Trump?

No, it’s a VOICE MAIL that was left by Dowd.

Obviously this was shared with Mueller at some point since Flynn was cooperating with Mueller since July of 2017. This phone call is from November 2017.

>> His lawyer obviously knew of no criminal activity. <<

Weelll... Like I said, it’s a shame we get a piece that makes an insinuation without either the exonerating or condemning piece. You could take this as the lawyer wanting to make sure Flynn didn’t pull something out of his ass to save his own skin, or you could take this as the lawyer not trusting isn’t really innocent. Or most likely, you could take it as the Dowd wondering if Flynn has a spin on something which might make Trump look bad.

There is a MAJOR clear FACT regarding the Mueller investigation into the Trump/Russia collusion fantasy.

That FACT is that, Mueller knew, almost from the start, or at the very start, that there was no collusion to investigate, since the fusionGPS dossier was a complete fake, paid for by the Hillary campaign and the DNC and helped along by the Obama administration.

So, another MAJOR fact to come out of the ‘investigation’ is that, Mueller proceeded with a sham investigation, with the sole intent of getting Trump on something, and failing to get him on collusion, Mueller and his team set about getting Trump on obstruction of justice via perjury, or lying to the FBI.

What the democrats have ended up with is three major defeats or setbacks in the last 2 1/2 years. First they lost the election in 2016. Secondly, the economy is booming as never before. Thirdly, Mueller came up empty.

One could say that democrats are headed towards 2 other major disappointments, those being a huge Trump election with in 2020, and the loss of the house by democrats.

They keep digging their graves deeper and deeper.

Mueller's report said. "When Flynn’s counsel reiterated that Flynn could no longer share information pursuant to a joint defense agreement, the President’s personal counsel said he would make sure that the President knew that Flynn’s actions reflected 'hostility' towards the President.'"

Well crap, that does not look good.

Mueller didn’t do anything with it so it can’t be that bad. I think Trump is now insulated from just about anything. They’ve thrown everything at him short of accusing him of being a Kennedy. I think any accusation, even if true, will roll off his back.

Did Mueller take action against Dowd for it? No. And it is one voicemail transcript page out of how many pages in the Flynn matter?

Because the President’s personal counsel said he would make sure that the President knew that Flynn’s actions reflected 'hostility' towards the President. sounds like a threat of retaliation. Maybe it is normal in legal speak, and hopefully not illegal.

There's been a lot of discussion in the media over the last few weeks about whether Trump would have been prosecuted for obstruction of justice if he was anyone other than the President of the United States.

That's a legitimate topic of conversation, but it also introduces a giant red flag that should be obvious to all of us:

Nobody affiliated with Trump in these matters was prosecuted for obstruction of justice, either.

Yep. Bruce Ohr is under oath describing a meeting in August 2016 where the nature of the dossier as a politically motivated document created for hire by the Clinton campaign, and Andrew Weissman was at that meeting.

So, Weissmann isn’t going to tell Mueller that on day one?

Well, Mueller didn’t need to be told anyway, I’m sure he knew already.
