"Wow: Whoopi Had To Correct Swalwell On Facts Surrounding Virginia Beach Shooting Despite His Anti-Gun 'Expertise"
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) on Wednesday made an appearance on "The View." Naturally, the discussion turned to his desire for gun control, especially after last week's tragic shooting in Virginia Beach. When asked what could be done to keep this from happening again, Swalwell reiterated his desire for an "assault weapons" ban and buyback program.
"First, ban and buyback every assault weapon in America. Im the only candidate calling for that. That will go a long way. Kids are sitting paralyzed with fear in their classrooms today and you cant measure that," Swalwell explained. "We can measure the deaths and the loss and we mourn the dead, but the fear that a kid has in their classroom today, you cant measure that."
Whoopi Goldberg did, however, remind Swalwell of one important tidbit: the Virginia Beach shooter was an average guy and he carried his attack out with "regular guns" a handgun and not an AR-15.

A near-brain-experience for both of them. /sarc
Wow. It’s a sad day when somebody as brain-dead as Whoopi Goldberg sets you straight.
“First, ban and buyback every assault weapon in America. Im the only candidate calling for that. “
Swallowswell is up to 0.0% in the polls.
I honestly think he is only doing this to keep his face on television so when Feinstein is finally room temp (it can't be long?) that he is jumping into that race.
Swalwell has one of those really punchable faces.
Kids are sitting in fear in classrooms as a result of a workplace shooting that had nothing to do with a school? And as a result, he wants to ban weapons that were not used in the shooting incident he points to?
His one brain cell must get really lonely.
Facts dont matter to these idiots. Its all about feelings.
Swalwell is obviously possessed. He is indecent and has no soul.
He tweeted yesterday that as a member of the House he would be the only Presidential candidate who would actually “try” President Trump in impeachment.
Yes, he really is that stupid.
Swallowell doesn’t understand how our government works. He does not belong in Congress.
This guy is really weird. Looks like the perfect poster boy. Watching him I get a sense he argues with himself, really weird.
...you have to be corrected by Whoopi Goldberg.
You can assault someone with any kind of gun, even a toy gun. Thus, all guns are assault weapons. /libtard logic

augmented by his whiny speech mannerism.
***he carried his attack out with “regular guns” a handgun and not an AR-15.***
I remember back when “We ONLY want to register handguns. Rifles will not be affected!” was the constant mantra of the anti-gun people. Later they called for bans on handguns.
Here is what Nelson “Pete” Shields, founder of Handgun Control Inc, (HCI, now the Brady Center) had to say.

Im convinced that we have to have federal legislation to build on. Were going to have to take one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily given the political realities going to be very modest.
Of course, its true that politicians will then go home and say, This is a great law. The problem is solved. And its also true that such statements will tend to defuse the gun-control issue for a time.
So then well have to strengthen that law, and then again to strengthen that law, and maybe again and again. Right now, though, wed be satisfied not with half a loaf but with a slice. Our ultimate goal total control of handguns in the United States is going to take time.
My estimate is from seven to ten years. The problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns sold in this country. The second problem is to get them all registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors totally illegal.

Yes, Im for an outright ban [on handguns].

HCI, around 1986, came out in favor of a ban on semi-auto rifles and shotguns.
And HERE are the words of Josh Sugarmann, who got the anti-rifle ball rolling, and all the news media and politicians jumped on board.
Assault weapons’ menacing looks, coupled with the public’s confusion over fully-automatic machine guns versus semi-automatic assault weapons —anything that looks like a machine gun is assumed to be a machine gun— can only increase the chance of public support for restrictions on these weapons.”
Slap happy and gob smackin’.
Still suffering from all the wedgies he got in school.
“Kids are sitting paralyzed with fear in their classrooms today”
He’s recalling when he was a kid, sitting paralyzed with fear in his classroom, wondering how many pants-ings he’d be getting at the next recess. Terrifying.
