Funds from the “war tax” would be deposited into a veteran’s health care trust fund.
Sure Pete, those trust funds work so well.

Add a line to the Federal Tax Form to voluntarily pay an extra $1,000 to the Government and tell me how many Democrats and Liberals do it.
John Kerry chose the lowest Tax Table on his MA Tax Form when they offered a choice to voluntarily pay a 2% higher State Tax Rate.
That was before he hid his Yacht in RI to avoid paying MA Taxes on it.
Apparently Kerry’s Accountants are smarter than he is.

It’s like each candidate has to come up with a new tax.

Any idea what the Constitutional authority is for a tax of this kind?
It's not an income tax.
If it's an Article I Section 8 Clause 1 direct tax, it's not uniform, since it targeted at "non-military families" only.
Am I missing something that only a liberal can see?

It kinda reminds me of the long distance tax.
In May of 2006 the Treasury Department announced it would stop collecting the 3 percent federal excise tax on long-distance telephone service that Americans have been paying since 1898, when the tax was first levied to help finance the Spanish-American War.

How about a stupid tax on Beto? Maybe a 75% nuisance tax on Hollywood?

Notice how all the Democrat ideas heavily emphasize new or increased taxes?
