I still am astonished that only a few ever analyse China as a hostile nation. I guess so much is invested that everyone, from Democrats to Republicans, have too much to lose. But they are quick to condemn Russia, a nation 1/10th size of China, that really is not screwing the US over economically.

I say this as a Canadian, who liberal party is the and always has been the hand maiden of the ChiComs. But it seems little better in the US>

Not much noise about China wanting Taiwan back lately either. They know it is their goose which lays the golden egg. If the Chicoms were smart, they would:
  1. Adopt the flag of Taiwan (originally designed by Dr. Sun Yat Sen, if memory serves me correctly).
  2. Organize a Chinese Commonwealth based on the old British Commonwealth of Nations model.
  3. Encourage each region to develop more autonomy, especially Shanghai.
  4. Unilaterally announce that Hong Kong was going to be given a choice between voting for independence or another 100 years of the one nation/two systems promise they were give.
  5. Then, finally, they would invite places like Singapore and Taiwan to join. Maybe even places like Malaysia, where ethnic Chinese are a minority but still run the economy.

Now China can build up it’s military while it’s citizens experience poverty.

That’s a hallmark of Communist/Socialist countries.

Bingo! The tariff naysayers don’t really understand tariffs in the modern world. It is not a bilateral static situation. Other countries lay in wait for the business the chinese now enjoy. The Chinese are subsidizing their prices to keep what business they can.
