Bank of America will no longer do business with companies that run detention centers

Bank of America will end its association with companies that provide prisoner and immigrant detention services at both the state and federal levels. The move comes amid growing public concern about the nation's border policies.

A spokesperson said Wednesday that Bank of America (BAC) has discussed the issue with its clients that provide those services. While the bank appreciates "steps they have taken to properly execute their contractual and humanitarian responsibilities," it ultimately decided to "exit the relationships."

"Lacking further legal and policy clarity, and in recognition of the concerns of our employees and stakeholders in the communities we serve, it is our intention to exit these relationships," the spokesperson said.

The Miami Herald previously reported that Bank of America was a financier of Caliburn — which the newspaper said runs a facility called Homestead under a US government contract. The Herald said the bank provided a $380 million loan to the company and a $75 million credit line. The paper indicated Homestead is not a prison, but "protesters say it functions as one. The minors held inside are not allowed to leave."

Bank of America is the main bank for illegals to transfer money to china and other places. I think it is the only bank were no ID is required to open an account.

B of A should be outlawed.

They would be in violation of their charter. Close them down. See how they like that. I think the comptroller of currency enforces this.

“Are you REALLY SURE about that?”

not sure what exactly you are asking me? Am I sure things are degrading quickly?...YES I AM SURE. Am I sure the big companies, that we have allowed to become a significant part of our lives, are now using that against those who are not liberally minded? YES I AM SURE. Am I sure that eventually information we are trying to find on the internet, things we want to buy, money we need to accept for our businesses, things we want to sell, our opinions we want to put out there are eventually going to be shut down, stopped, banned, doxxed, prevented, etc? YES I AM SURE.

How inhumane! Don’t they know air conditioning causes global warming! You have them trapped in a building while the oceans are rising. They’ll all drown, just like that little girl and her father!/parody

How immoral! They have to go out and work as sex slaves to pay for the smuggling and transport fees. You’re depriving them of the means to repay their debts to the coyotes, some of whom are DNC contributors.
