Bank of America will end its association with companies that provide prisoner and immigrant detention services at both the state and federal levels. The move comes amid growing public concern about the nation's border policies.
A spokesperson said Wednesday that Bank of America (BAC) has discussed the issue with its clients that provide those services. While the bank appreciates "steps they have taken to properly execute their contractual and humanitarian responsibilities," it ultimately decided to "exit the relationships."
"Lacking further legal and policy clarity, and in recognition of the concerns of our employees and stakeholders in the communities we serve, it is our intention to exit these relationships," the spokesperson said.
The Miami Herald previously reported that Bank of America was a financier of Caliburn which the newspaper said runs a facility called Homestead under a US government contract. The Herald said the bank provided a $380 million loan to the company and a $75 million credit line. The paper indicated Homestead is not a prison, but "protesters say it functions as one. The minors held inside are not allowed to leave."

They have no concern for drugs or human traffickers......those who fall pray to are just collateral damage.....their agenda is first and foremost and they know they can control/stall/fight any pushback....just as we are seeing.
Yes...it continues.
Glad I closed my account with them years ago. They eventually left this area. I switched my checking account to a regional bank that appreciates my business, and looks out for my best interests.
Bills accomplish nothing when not enforced for decades and currently they’re not or we wouldn’t have a border crisis.
Congress LOVES Bills they can play with so they look like they’re doing their jobs.......meanwhile Liberal Judges block everything Trump attempts.
They won’t.....Banks don’t make this type of move we risk and accepting the fallout or are covered from it..
Big business will put the screws to BofA shortly thereafter.
I will not do any business with B of A & I hve not done so ever with a personal bank account.
A major company I worked for 1971-1975 did their banking with B of A.
In the process of trying to get everything computerized -—EARLY DAYS-—B of A had charged my employer twice for a number of checks. ( I handled 14 different bank accounts with reconciliations). When my Controller finally got a meeting with B of A execs & the totally lost & unaware of accounting principles programmers of the system in progress, we presented over 6 months of double charges which now were OVER $100,000. May not sound like much today, but in 1974, that was alot of $$$$$$.
That meeting lasted over 2 hours, with plenty of proof from our side. B of A finally admitted there was a problem——but I got a permanent ding in my personnel folder for being so ‘stubborn’. I quit that job in summer of 1975. Took 2 1/2 persons to replace my work load.
Ask me how good that feels !!!!!!!
Are you SURE?
Are you REALLY SURE about that?
So BofA is demanding open borders and more deaths? No comprende
Do that and problem solved.
Well you have hit on an interesting point. The Treasury secretary has the power to intercede in any banks remittance business (that is what the payments back to a mexican bank are called— remittances, as well as the transfer back to an individual in a Mexican cambio (money exchange storefront).
Bank of America among many large banks.... makes a fortune by charging illegals or semi or mostly legals for transferring money to Mexico.
Treasury specifically bans BOA doing this— and voila- the private contractor firms protecting illegal immigrant children from the drug Cartels and other predators, gets their BOA accounts back. Bingo!
Insurance companies canceling you for your MAINSTREAM ANS LOGICAL views.
This is really getting out of hand. The very notion of corporations using their roles in our society to influence policy and politics is a pretty friggin scary turn of events.
What’s even more scary is their is no opposition party to the progressive-corportist alliance. The GOPe is wholly owned subsidiary of the Chamber of Commerce.
STFUBOA. Virtue signal in your bathroom with the door locked and a rubber glove on.
If BoA has any government contracts- the govt should cancel them.
LOL
And dont forget the Vaseline. Or maybe those people prefer no lube.
I call it Bank of the Americas. And I am embarrassed to say I am a customer and a shareholder.
boa and I parted ways in 1967!
I don’t want to know.
