Ms. Warren is running on her own unique brand of anticorporate populism, one that attacks a small group that holds far too much power.
...
The central flaw in Ms. Warrens populism is her solution: more government. Mr. Trumps populism was successful in part because it harnessed a sentiment shared by the vast majority of Americansdistrust of a powerful and corrupt political system. He positioned himself outside that power structure, and promised to drain the swamp. Ms. Warrens anticorruption populism sounds good until you hear her fix: Give the feds more power. Many Americans might believe corporations are a problem. But how many think replacing the market with government is the answer?
Even Ms. Warren understands the risk. Its why she goes to such effort to insist she is a capitalist and to claim her only interest is in imposing better rules on the system. But the populist spin cant mask her actual policies. And the agenda she has so meticulously laid out amounts to a ferocious government expansion, unmatched by any candidate other than Mr. Sanders.
It is an odd capitalist who calls for eliminating entire sections of the free market. Ms. Warren was one of only two candidates who vowed Wednesday to abolish all private health insurance. Her climate plan promises an Inauguration Day moratorium on all new fossil-fuel leases offshore and on public landdestroying tens of thousands of jobs. Shed forcibly dismantle Amazon, Google and Facebook .
Taking over many functions would be your friendly neighborhood bureaucrat. The bozos behind the Veterans Affairs waiting lists? Ms. Warren will task them with your health care. Shell put the federal government in charge of a new renewable-energy planSolyndra on steroids. That corporate slush fund called the Export-Import bank?

Silly me. I saw when this question was asked, and I thought they were asking the candidates if they would give up THEIR insurance, which would be superior to that allowed for the rest of us. Of course not, they're too important.
Lizzie Borden did less damage to the republic.
Socialism = government taking whatever it wants without limit and punishing people for being more successful than others, raising more productive kids, etc.
Antone know of a good way around the WSJ paywall?
As President Reagan reminded us....
The nine scariest words you can hear
I’m from the government and I’m here to help
This is when McConnell authors and pushes through legislation in the Senate to switch ALL Civilian Federal Employee’s from TAXPAYER Funded PRIVATE Insurance to Medicare.
Pocahontas wats to refill the swamp... too funny.
I would LOVE to see a detailed & complete INVENTORY of everything that Warren owns....down to the individual kitchen utensils in her possession.
Then, let’s see how lives her life with a great number of items made by CORPORATIONS.
Clothing-—accessories-—cars—phones-—computers—jewelry-—appliances-—roofing materials—tires-......
I am trying to sell my current property and move about 2000 miles. I have been prepping for this move. I have boxes of items already packed & items that can’t be packed in boxes, such as freezers. EVERY box has a number & I have a notebook telling me what contents are in each box. All the single items-—down to yard tools have an ID number. MY INVENTORY is on 67 pages of single spaced typing in my computer. I gave a copy to my insurance agent. He was flabbergasted. NO ONE has ever done that for him.
I currently have 840 different assigned numbers. I live in 1350 sq ft house & am retired on SS. I don’t have nearly the things that Warren has.
However, I certainly do understand the economy of scale that exists because corporations can make multiple items cheaper than a person making one at a time.
Warren can afford to have a seamstress make her clothes-—I cannot & most of American women cannot. She can have custom made furniture & whatever she wants.
She has the proverbial silver spoon in HER MOUTH-—but she wants to tell the rest of us what we can have & tell us what companies can be allowed to exist under her Presidency.
She is a COMPLETE LUNATIC.
Meanwhile, I want to see her inventory.
a small group that holds far too much power.
Thats our U.S. Congress and Supreme Court 544 people thatd be one single medium-size business.
Of course, if we the people payed real attention and voted intelligently at much more than our 15-20% rate, itd be waaaayyyy different.
We can only blame ourselves, really.
Kimberly strassel is a national treasure
