FULL TITLE: Trump slams 'terrible' Jimmy Carter as 'forgotten president' after suggestion 2016 win was 'illegitimate'

President Trump fired back at former President Jimmy Carter’s suggestion that he’s illegitimate president, saying Carter is “the forgotten president” who’s not only “trashed” by his own party but also remembered only as being “terrible” for the country.

Trump addressed the comments made by Carter during a news conference Saturday following the G-20 summit in Japan, saying that although Carter is “a nice man, he was a terrible president,” before noting that “he’s a Democrat and it’s a typical talking point.”

He added that Carter is “loyal to the Democrats” but “as everybody now understands, I won not because of Russia, not because of anybody but myself.”

Carter said Friday at a Virginia forum that “I think a full investigation would show that Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016.”

“He lost the election, and he was put into office because the Russians interfered on his behalf," he added. When asked if Trump was “illegitimate president,” Carter responded saying “Basically, what I just said, which I can’t retract.”

I saw the clip of Carter saying what he did.

He looks and is just a demented old man who doesn’t really know what he’s saying.

To quote what someone on another thread said, not originla with me, but sums things up:

1. Can anyone find any evidence of anyone’s votes having been changed in the election, as a result of the alleged Russian interference?

2. In the all important electoral vote, can anyone find any evidence that any presidential electors changed their votes to Trump because of the interference?

As I recall, Congress counted the electoral votes, and certified the electoral votes from each state, as called for in the Constitution. So can Jimmy or anyone else, point to where any “illegitimate” procedures interfered with the vote?

Trump is doing what he does.

Considering all of the forces that have aggressively aligned against him, this man has done amazing things.

Carter is known for two things. The hostage situation in Iran and the bungled attempt to rescue them and pounding nails.

Well, at least Jimmy went back to his farm, as opposed to Obama being at (last I heard), some French chateau.

Carter was our #1 most popular President in Iran, before Obama.

Jimmy has always been a sack of dung.

People got the idea that he’s a good man because a family in Americus, GA came up with a good idea called Habitat for Humanity. They needed a high profile spokesperson and Jimmy was right there not far away. This was an opportunity for bitter Jimmy to help salvage his sorry reputation. It still didn’t make him a good man. In the end, Jimmy is what he’s always been, .... a sack of dung.

Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dem daily talking points (and hildabeast) conveniently omit the fact that bubba did not have a majority of the popular vote & became POTUS by the Electoral College vote (similar to trump)

Carter is mostly known as a “nice man” who was an “awful President”.

People would do well to remember this and point it out when people express a dislike for the “brash temperament” of Trump.

At the end of the day, the nice guy trashed our economy, caused massive gas lines, created the modern day Iran that supports terrorism, and he greatly weakened our military.

By any measure, the brash guy who sends mean tweets has been wildly successful by any metric for our nation and each of our lives as individuals.

What is more important?

“Carter is known for two things. The hostage situation in Iran and the bungled attempt to rescue them and pounding nails.”

He’s also known for losing a fight with a “killer” rabbit while rowing a boat.

No matter how you cut it, he is and always has been a worthless, self-righteous POS.

You are correct. Jimmy is NOT a nice person and is probably the most anti-Semitic of all U.S. Presidents - even worse than Obama. He loathes Israel and yet he purports to be such a religious man. What a crock. We can see through you Jimmy.

I personally remember the call I got from the Russian agent telling me to vote for Trump or else.

Is the sarcasm tag really needed?

Carter needs to just shut his ass and stay in retirement. That piece of garbage that certified that the “elections” in Venezuela were all good to go is complaining about the Trump election. Go take your Geritol, sit on the can for 3 hours a day, and go drool in your oat meal, Jimmy. That’s all you’re good for.

IMO, he wasn't bad enough to warrant a grave pi$$ing. Certainly not like LBJ does.

The only time we remember that slug is when we lament what a crap president he was in the 70s or he crawls out from under his rock to talk nonsense.
