SamAdams76 Trending of Twitter Follower Growth for 2020 Presidential Candidates - July 2019
Public fan of Emmylou Harris ^

This is a monthly posting of Twitter follower growth for the past month for 2020 presidential candidates in which I reveal who - of the presidential candidates - attracted the most new followers in the month of JUNE 2019!

Last Month's Post Here

Lot of activity in the past 30 days in this nascent - but rapidly developing presidential campaign.

We just had our first round of Democrat debates and alleged front runner "Slow Joe" Biden had his head handed to him. Not that anybody distinguished themselves all that much other than to repeatedly state their bitterness and hatred towards President Trump, who is rapidly proving to be the best and most effective president of the modern era.

Why follow Twitter follower growth?

Good question. During the 2016 campaign, as Trump was getting bashed again and again over his use of Twitter, I decided that I would start tracking - on a monthly basis - just how many followers Trump was attracting. Also, for comparison, I started keeping track of his political opponents.

As the summer of 2015 progressed, I saw that former front runners like Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz were seeing less Twitter momentum as Trump climbed ever higher and higher.

As the general election kicked into gear, Trump was beating Hillary in Twitter follower growth month after month. Suffice to say that I was one of the few not surprised that Trump won the presidency that November.

So here we are four years later.

Some interesting observations this month.

Slow Joe Biden, the much -ballyhooed front runner - only gained 29,227 Twitter followers in the month of June. This places him at #12 out of my Top 20. Not very impressive for a front-runner. Especially considering that incumbent President Trump earned over 837,000 new followers during that same period! In fact, ever since I have done this survey, Trump has ALWAYS been the top Twitter follower getter. By far. In every presidential time period I have ever measured.

Another surprising observation is that the number two Twitter follower getter is Democrat Andrew Yang. You don't hear that in the mainstream media, do you? During June, Yang garnered just over 214,000 new Twitter followers. Not too shabby. So as far as I see it, this Andrew Yang is now the Democratic front-runner.

On Andrew Yang's heels is Pocahontas Warren with 171,000 new followers and fading media darling Pete Buttgieg with 122,000 new followers.

It goes down rapidly from there. It bears repeating that Slow Joe only garnered 29,227 new followers. Folks, Joe Biden is not going to be the Democrat nominee. There is no enthusiasm for Slow Joe.

I was surprised to see that Kamala Harris wasn't further up in the rankings. She picked up close to 40,000 new followers but I expected much better after her spirited, albeit nutty, debate performance.

Finally Bill De Blasio snuck into my Top 20. He picked up 6,800 new followers in June. Which pretty much tells me that internet access has apparently been granted to mental institutions around our great nation.

By the way, I am now tracking 62 presidential candidates. Yep, I even track the total nut jobs like Vermin Supreme and Mark Cuban.

I should also mention that Trump has some purported Republicans run against him. Let me tell you how they are fairing. The drunken Bill Weld picked up 2,552 new followers in June and is number 29 on my list. The total loser John Kasich LOST 688 followers and is #60 on my list. Then you have Bob Corker who LOST 1,054 followers during June to hit #61 out of 62.

Last place went to the obnoxious billiionaire Mark Cuban - he lost 4,973 followers.

Finally, remember Beto O'Rourke? Well he is #59 on my list, just ahead of John Kasich, losing 563 followers. Vermin Supreme has better Twitter follower growth than any of these guys. When you are a presidential campaign and you are LOSING followers, you might as well just go home.

Well I hope you like the update and stay tuned for my next update on August 1.

With the bans endemic to the leftist run social media, an analysis like this isn’t any more accurate than an internet poll made by the Huffington Post.

My record is perfect so far. My Twitter follower growth model predicted Donald Trump winning the presidency in 2016.

We will see how I do in 2020. Right now it's looking good for Trump again.

Trump gained almost as many new followers in June as did the whole rest of the Dem field put together ...

Sanders, Bidn and few of the also-rans look like they’re topping out ...

Interesting.

I look at this field of “candidates” and I’m reminded of the old adage that says, “you can’t make a race horse out of a mule.”

All mules and not a race horse in sight.

2016 was before the band became epic in scale.

I don’t think that you need a poll to see Trump walking away with it if Voter identification and vote chain of custody is strictly enforced next November.

The Democrat vote manufacturing machine is crippled by the loss of the presidency, and Deportation ramping up between now and then will add to the divide.

Excellent work. It will be very interesting to see how the trends change as the Dummy field narrows down. Right now Trump is killing them all.

And a recommendation:

You should set the width of your chart to something like 800 pixels. Right now it must be quite a bit wider. The problem this causes, at least on an iPad, is that the text shrinks in order to show the full width of the chart.

Not the end of the world if you don’t but it would help the iPod users. You have a great idea with your monthly Twitter survey. I expect you will be getting a lot of attention as we move closer to November 2020.

I still say Twitter will ban Trump next year - months before the election. They’ll take the heat, but they have to shut him up online or they have no chance.

Anyway, allow me to introduce you to the Democrat front-runner as of July 1, 2019.

Remember, everybody was laughing on July 1, 2015, when according to my Twitter survey at that time, Donald Trump was the front-runner for the Republicans.

Another surprising observation is that the number two Twitter follower getter is Democrat Andrew Yang.

Is there a way to get geographical information on new followers? Yang is so low profile it's hard to believe it's an across the board increase. Is he giving speeches in Mexico like Beto or what?

I think Yang has some grass roots appeal that is not being covered by MSM (mainly because they are pushing their establishment darlings and want to avoid creating another Trump).

He's the guy proposing the $1,000/month universal income for all Americans. As stupid as that idea is, it is winning Yang a lot of grass roots support. However, I don't see Yang getting anywhere near the traction (as an outsider) that Trump got four years ago as MSM will ignor him.

The media/establishment never thought Trump would win so they humored him and this allowed his movement to get too big to stop. They likely won't make the same mistake again.
