No funds for you, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) told FIFA on Tuesday. The Democrat has introduced legislation that would withhold federal funding from the men's World Cup in 2026 until the U.S. women's national team gets paid as much as their male counterparts.
The U.S. players filed a lawsuit against the U.S. soccer federation in March with their financial demands. Perhaps the best case they've made so far has been on the pitch. For the past month they've been kicking butt in France, until finally winning the 2019 Women's World Cup on Sunday, beating the Netherlands 2-0, and successfully defending their 2015 win. Oh, and they also won two more times before that. The Women's World Cup started in 1991, so if you're keeping count, the U.S. has won half of the eight tournaments so far. The women's games have also garnered higher ratings and more revenue in recent years.

Guess #2 doesn’t bring in the same revenue as #1 and doesn’t make the same money. Butt, don’t try to ‘splain that to a screeching flag stomping soccer dumbass. Math is hard.
And let’s make sure that all actor’s in a movie, even those in crowd scene with no lines to say, get paid the same as the movie’s lead actors and actresses. I’m waiting for the Hollywood Dimocrapts to support that for the movies the ‘act’ in.
And futbol players must make the same as pro football players.
Why not include the NBA and WNBA in this legislation.
The women’s players are paid about as much as the men’s in the US despite the rhetoric. It’s the World Cup money that is different. The problem is the men’s world cup brings in $4 billion and the women’s only brings in $300 million.

Better yet, citizens earn as much as a Congressional members. After all, we pay their salaries. Where does the employee get paid less than the boss?
If I was a Senator, I would sponsor a bill to cut off all federal funding for all sports at all levels.
Put the men’s and women’s teams in a head to head match and see who is better.

The gals currently receive a higher percentage of total revenue than the guys do. Give the gals the same percentage of revenue as the guys get. It’s only fair. And keep government subsidies out of it! If soccer is meant to be, people will support it.

Government wants to tell a private organization what metrics they use to pay their employees? That’s called fascism.
Why is the government subsidizing soccer?
