US Returns First Asylum Seekers to Violent Nuevo Laredo

A U.S. policy to make asylum seekers wait in Mexico while their cases wind through clogged U.S. immigration courts expanded to a fourth Mexican border city Tuesday with the arrival of a first group of migrants to the violent city of Nuevo Laredo...

Nuevo Laredo marks the first new city for the policy since U.S. and Mexican officials struck an agreement on June 7 that called for its immediate expansion. Extending what U.S. officials name the “Migrant Protection Protocols” policy was a key piece of the accord to stave off President Donald Trump’s threat of tariffs to see if new measures reduced the flow of migrants.

U.S. officials announced Tuesday that the number of arrests and people stopped at the Mexican border dropped 28% in June compared to May.

Looks like the "Wait in Mexico" policy, and the increased policing by Mexico to avoid tariffs, are finally turning the tide.

The next logical step is for Mexico to round up the drug smugglers and human smuggler gang members and have a good old fashioned public hanging. They can request U.S. military assistance if necessary.

Each day in spite of what the losers on this site and the rest of our country bitch about President Trump:

The results are thousands times better for our side than under Obama or if H Clinton was our president.

It was the 26 people who had their assets frozen

Anyone know where the list came from

Were they on the Trump EO list of December 2017....inquiring minds seek to know.

It’s all propaganda.

Part of the narrative of fake news.

I can’t stand them.

Drugs. I wish they would request our help and I hope we give it to them. The Cartels need to be destroyed! No trials, no incarceration, just dead cartel members.

Compared to Ciudad Juarez, Nuevo Laredo is practically Disneyland.

“Why is the city violent?”

The cartel violence and corruption of officials is so bad, that they actually dis-established the police in Nuevo Laredo for a while. They just sent intermittent Military patrols through the city.

Many Mexican cities, including the major cities on the border with the USA (Tijuana, Juarez, Nuevo Laredo and Reynosa) are among the the most violent on Earth, in terms of homicides and other violent crime per 100,000 in population.

They are NOT immigrants if they break in.

Immigrants have documents that they applied for, waited for, paid for and complied with.
