President Donald Trump announced Thursday he’ll be issuing an executive order directing federal agencies to provide the Commerce Department with records pertaining to “the number of citizens and noncitizens in our country.” Speaking to reporters from the White House Rose Garden, Trump said his administration is “not backing down on our effort to determine the citizenship status of the United States population.” While Attorney General William Barr said the citizenship question would not be included on the 2020 census, Trump detailed what his administration will do instead.
“I am hereby ordering every department and agency in the federal government to provide the Department of Commerce with all requested records regarding the number of citizens and noncitizens in our country,” Trump said, as ABC News reported. “They must furnish all legally accessible records in their possession immediately. We will utilize these vast federal databases to gain a full, complete, and accurate count of the noncitizen population.”
Good. They need to be shocked.
How they gonna know how much money to allot and how many congressmen to have for each state.. That is why we need it on the census form!

Citizenship has been ascertained in various forms for mo0st of the 220 years the census has been performed.
SCOTUS concurred that Commerce has the power to ask the citizenship question. There is no question.
But Roberts is an ass. He sent the case back to the lower courts because Ross wasn’t ‘clear enough’.
POTUS will continue to fight in the lower courts and then come back and win in SCOTUS.
But in the meantime, he’s ordered Commerce to go full steam with statistical inference to get the portions accurately estimated.
Donald Trump likely called in his top directors at Commerce and poured over the alternatives. The Census is one of the premier breeding grounds of accurate efficient estimation algorithms. Look up W. Edwards Deming to understand. We can be assured those Census Directors briefed POTUS thoroughly what the alternatives were, what works, what can be defended.

Not sure why you replied to me with that. I don’t see where you addressed my point, being:
Illegal aliens may very will be included in the apportionment of congressional representatives. In other words, if California’s illegal immigrants turn out to number 1,000,000, then those million people may very well help California get more representatives in the House, even though they’re not citizens. I’m starting to think I’m not saying it clearly enough.

Significantly, and to give a hint where this is heading, it will almost certainly show that the number of illegals and their anchor babies are WELL North of 50 million. This will expose the reason why the Democrats are throwing American citizens under the bus to unlawfully lander to illegal aliens and why Republicans hide under their desks in fear of the offending illegals

Illegals can be counted but it doesn’t matter.
What matters is the formulas that yield the ‘Apportionment Population’ (AP); that’s the official term and it describes the population of citizens entitled to representation in Congress.
The example I gave is a simple one:
400 million people counted total, living, breathing, broken down by formulas acting on federal databases as follows:
* 360 million estimated citizens by AP estimation formulas
* 10 million legal immigrants, green card holders, visa holders
* 30 million illegals or undocumented
The AP formulas will be used to apportion representatives, not merely from census survey data.
The beauty of POTUS’s move is that if Pelosi and her commie coalition complain about the AP formulas, then POTUS can come back and say let’s pass a law making it clear that citizenship can be asked on the Census.
If Pelosi says no, but she wants to ‘investigate’ the AP formulations, then she can subpoena the US community of PhD Statisticians that make up the advisory panels for Commerce. She will be crippled by persons having IQs making mincemeat out of her protestations. She hasn’t the acumen for it, not even close.
This is not a new thing.
Look up W. Edwards Deming who among many was a great, great influencer over many things, one of which was the US Census.

The only citizenship information available to date is the ACS survey which goes out to around one in six households and then is extrapolated to determine the VAP for the district in litigation. The trial court fight frequently is over the accuracy of this information. Using a combined data bases from all government agencies the DOJ will have a better picture of what the actual VAP is. Dems don’t want there to be an accurate count because they would then lose many of these cases.”
Another positive for this action is that it allows for the agencies to identify identity theft and fraud on programs requiring citizenship to access the benefits. It may, if not stopped by the courts, allow for the IRS and SSA records to be merged for tax fraud and identity theft prosecutions.
Thanks for the clarification. I didn’t read the entire thread you linked. Your link took be to a post that showed a chart that addressed the history of censorship questions on the census. I thought that specific post was what you wanted me to see.
You may be right on the Apportionment Population formula. All I know there are some who think illegals should be included and the issue of whether or not they can is working its way through the courts right now.

It will be a concern for the Dems for the discrepancy between the census numbers and the Commerce Department results. If the census have a greater numbers in migrant states, we will have a red flag for the illegal migrant count padding the census count. If true, those states with big discrepancies should have their census numbers thrown out.
The parallels to this come with the IRS. The IRS can check our banking income through our deposits. If our banking income is larger than our reported income, a red flag goes up for an audit.
The effort by President Trump to determine through the census, the voting population failed. However, the results of the Commerce Dept. will prevail for apportionment. The Constitution does not require that the census is the only way to determine the voting population. When the census shows a huge discrepancy against the Commerce numbers, the Commerce numbers will be used as the valid count. It would be like me reporting a lower number for my income than what my bank deposits reflect.
He will use that info as a way to prove the census to have questionable results. He will be able to contest the census results so that apportionment will not occur. He has exposed the perfidy of his opposers and now is going in right over their heads. I am almost sure the Epstein case is a way of scaring the guilty parties....he will expose them if they try to impeach him. He was obviously doing op research in great detail long before he declared his candidacy...long before...
Trump’s use of the Commerce Depts numbers will prevent the illegal migrant count from affecting the apportionment results.
I'm thinking that's another legal battle down the road. Once Trump knows how many illegals are in an area he can adjust the census count.
