President Donald Trump announced Thursday he’ll be issuing an executive order directing federal agencies to provide the Commerce Department with records pertaining to “the number of citizens and noncitizens in our country.” Speaking to reporters from the White House Rose Garden, Trump said his administration is “not backing down on our effort to determine the citizenship status of the United States population.” While Attorney General William Barr said the citizenship question would not be included on the 2020 census, Trump detailed what his administration will do instead.
“I am hereby ordering every department and agency in the federal government to provide the Department of Commerce with all requested records regarding the number of citizens and noncitizens in our country,” Trump said, as ABC News reported. “They must furnish all legally accessible records in their possession immediately. We will utilize these vast federal databases to gain a full, complete, and accurate count of the noncitizen population.”

No matter what method is used to count illegals, you can bet Dems will sue to make sure they are part of the counts for apportionment process. That's for sure.
Your statement about illegal aliens may or may not be included in the apportionment numbers is the question. However, the real question should not be about citizenship vs illegal migrants. The question should be about “inhabitants” and the Constitution’s original public meaning which tied apportionment “to persons with a fixed abode and far more permanent place in the political community than simple physical presence.” Non-citizens are subject to involuntary removal and thus cannot be considered an inhabitant in the constitutional sense.
I hope the upcoming raids and removal of those who already have court orders to be removed will have an impact. There’s approximately a million people in this country with removal orders.
Use this process to collect the IDs of the millions of illegals, start deporting them BEFORE THE CENSUS, many of the rest remaining wont fill out the census...
I forgot to ad, once they have all the data from the various Fed agencies ((I cant believe iI am advocating big data collection from the Fed), its a no brainer to UPDATE the locations of the illegals IF they fill out the census form and then deport those remaining.

I agree in principle, but what if the courts rule otherwise?
What the courts determine is a good question. So far, it has been a crap shoot with gains and losses. I hope Trump strikes gold and halts the Dem’s effort to rig the elections with the illegal migrant vote.
Trump is sensational, but the swamp is deep. I worked with a guy who liked to say, “we’re surrounded by assassins.” That’s where Trump is, figuratively and (I pray) not literally.
I’ve never seen anyone as brave, determined and willing and able to face adversity as Donald J. Trump.
At best, he can only clean up around the fringes of the Deep State, even if he gets 8 years. It’s crucial that he be re-elected and it’s not to soon to find and recruit a suitable replacement. It sure ain’t Mike Pence.

The question Trump wanted on the Census was informational. If they checked noncitizen, that would not have meant they are necessarily illegal. There are millions of resident aliens in this country who are legal. My sister in law is from Australia, who has chosen to not become a citizen of the US and is happy with the decision.
Perhaps the thinking is if they are illegal aliens, they just won't return the form and won't be counted, but I don't think that is necessarily true either.
If you don't return a form, then someone comes looking for you and all they need to know is how many people live at the address. If no one answers the question at the address, they ask neighbors or other others to determine the number. I don't think it would make a difference either way.
Trump wanted an official number of non citizens in this country, which would have been interesting but not necessarily signaling how many are illegal.
No. The SC ruled years ago the illegal aliens are included in the population count and House representation. This would not have changed that at all. It was for informational purposes.

You repeated yourself enough. All residents including illegal aliens are included in the population of each state and all are included in the apportionment of the House. Period. End of story per the Supreme Court.
non citizens are mostly counted every 10 years. (EXcept for diplomats etc) The resulting reapportionment is not being missing their influence.
That is so wrong. The Census count is the valid and only used number to apportion House seats and the SC has already ruled that illegal aliens are included in the population count and House apportionment.
