Sure he can run for a third term. Just change the way terms are counted. Plus, constitutional requirements don’t count when they are ignored. pass a resolution that says Trump is eligible (as was done for McCain) and it’s a done deal.

Any idea if McCarthy gave them an opportunity to try this again before 2020? With this “tabling” does it prohibit the Dems from trying this again in 5 months? I read that if the impeachment vote did happen then if the Dems didn’t get the votes for impeachment they are prohibited from bring this up again.

I’d say if the ‘Rats lose the House next time around, then no worries. But RINOs are as big a threat as Dems, I’d argue. A Pubbie House is no guarantee. The letter after the name means jack anymore.

No problem. I know you’re one of the good guys. My comments were really meant for everyone on the thread to see, but I’m sure every Freeper knows the president is going to be swinging for the bleachers in his second term even more than he did in his first term.
I remember seeing Ronald Reagan on TV when he was president saying he wanted the amendment limiting presidents to two terms repealed.
