Its just a training module, for goodness sakes. Not every old thing is worth spending big bucks on.
That was my first q when I saw the photo.
For a moment I thought it was 1969. I mean breaking news and all.
That was pretty reached out when the APs found it.
I’m sure they’d try to save this thing by finding it a good home for a profit ... if NASA would sell it to them.
Roached out ... darn autocorrect!
Nowhere on the website does it say where they ae located or who is on their board of directors. Pathetic.
Had to make room for Obummer’s Muslim outreach programs.
I’m sorry for my angry, snarky posts. I just lost some stuff on my tablet and trying to recover it and was just mad. Also I’m mad at the disrespect shown to our country lately.
Again, I apologize and greatly appreciate your gentle responses and the time you took to respond they were very helpful good responses.
My dog just told me I should get off the computer and go to bed
I saw a flat bed hauling three of those for the Apollo program parked at a roadhouse restaurant when I was a kid in the late 60’s.
[NEIL ARMSTRONG’s CAPSULE IN DANGER OF COLLAPSE!!!]
Not to be confused with the Apollo 11 Command Module, which was the intent of the screaming headline.
That thing was only made to last a few years.
If they were serious about saving that centrifuge gondola, they would have at the very least, put a tent or simple metal shed over it!
And, there are easily-removable corrosion-impeding sprays they could have used to reduce the rate of degradation.
Instead, they are exploiting their mistreatment of it to raise big buck$$ for a mega-building that will, miraculously, "Save the Gondola"...
That website is...
TXnMA
Not sure where “they” are located or what they’re trying to do, but I can walk in about 10 minutes, to where this training capsule is sitting. It has been laying out in the elements for years, with no concern. The close-by centrifuge holds “escape the room” events and other party events now. There is talk of building a little museum, so maybe they’re trying to raise support. If it was really a huge concern, maybe our local Rep (Fitzpatrick) could take a few minutes out of his daily “vote against Trump” schedule and check into what it’s all about.
That certainly would have been exciting to see for sure. Hopefully you took pictures. 8>)
Oh for crying out loud....4 grand for a portable sand blasting company to come out and blast it and a bunch of guys and 4 cases of spray can primer and you buy another 10 years.....
They are already saying that today. . .
