They're pests that carry diseases, multiply quickly and are hard to catch. Rodents are terrorizing a Baltimore County community. Stephanie Yelton of Dundalk called the county to report the problem--and ended up being fined.

And I just read how the effective rat poisons (anti-coagulants) are moving up the chain, as the dead rats are eaten.
Poor coyotes, cougars, bald eagles (that taste like spotted owl).
So the poisons are being restricted or outlawed.
