Old video footage shows the current president of the Maryland Senate referring to Baltimore as a “warzone” and a “ghetto” while the previous mayor, while taking a tour of a neighborhood, says: “Whoa, you can smell the rats.”
Then-Mayor Catherine Pugh walked through part of the city with Fox 45 cameras in September 2018.
At one point, Pugh looks at vacant homes in the area and tells people around her: “What the hell? We should just take all this [expletive] down.”
“Whoa, you can smell the rats,” she soon adds. “Whew, Jesus. Oh, my God, you can smell the dead animals.” ...
Meanwhile, a resurfaced video posted by Fox 5 host Tim Young shows Thomas “Mike” Miller, the president of the state Senate, talking about Baltimore in 1989.
Miller called the city a “[expletive] ghetto,” calling it “worse than inner-city Washington, D.C.”
Miller, a 76-year-old who has been a state senator since 1975, then adds “I hope you’re not gonna play this on tape” and laughs before turning back to the city, referring to it as a “warzone.”

Funny how from then (1989) when Thomas Miller called Baltimore a “warzone’ and a “ghetto” until 2018, when the Black mayor, Catherine Pugh, talked about the smell of rats, that Baltimore hadn’t changed much apparently...

Bernie got away with calling the place a ‘third world country’ because he is a Democrat.
It may be a sh)(hole town but it’s THEIR sh)(hole and they’ll get upset if YOU call it that.

When the media is your de facto pr firm, helping you, they don’t try to sink you. Hence nothing came from Bernie’s honest assessment. Or any other democrats honest expressed views.
John Waters included a scene of a rat scurrying around Baltimore at the feet of two teens in love. And John is butthurt this week.
Didn’t John Waters used to refer to some people who call Baltimore home as “Baltimorons”?
I guess if your name is Pugh, then when you smell something really stinky you say, “Whoa!” (instead of pew!)
Otherwise, it could get confusing real quick. Mebbe inspire an updated version of “Who’s on first?”
