The intervention by President Trump exposed a pattern of misconduct by JAG officers which was shocking. I hope Admiral Richardson shakes up JAG like a pit bull with a rag doll.

Me too, though something tells me, the Navy is not the only branch where this happens.

Agree. JAG has been so much like big city DA’s; only interested in conviction rates and the defense attorneys are not really that concerned about their clients. NCIS has gotten away from real investigation and more towards entrapment and coercion.

OMG. I wouldn’t want to be a Navy JAG right now. obama’s influence. Playing politics with criminal justice. Not cool, JAG.

Agreed. I was in AF JAG but a lot has obviously changed in the 23 years since I retired. Back in the day, the trial counsel (prosecutor) had a duty to the truth, and could be imprisoned for playing hide the ball with exculpatory evidence. The defense counsel was truly independent and his/her chain of command was not through the local commanders. No theatrics allowed. No taking ANY case to trial unless each element of each offense could be proven beyond a reasonable doubt with solid evidence.

“..probably ALL because of President....”

Disagree - anyone with a strong boss understands what the boss wants without it being said. No doubt the Admiral was in agreement with the President anyway!

Under nobama the JAG corps apparently devolved into being the “JAG-off” corps.

Come back in from the limb. The move was “not directed” means that Trump didn’t order it, although the rescission of the medals was a very strong indication that President Trump was watching and expecting justice.

Based on the actual statement, I believe it. Based on the inference that there was no CINC influence, your branch is mush sturdier. These announcements usually do not rely on inference, which is far too subjective.

“Don’t you think that Vice Admiral Hannink is the one who signed off on the medals?”

No. A NAM is nothing. They hand them out with the rations.

You don’t have to go all the way up to three stars to get one approved.

The Negro from Nairobi certainly did a lot of harm, but this crap started under Slick Willie. Check out the Tail Hook scandal.

Further, a large number of Marine generals resigned en masse in protest of the rapist in chief’s destructive orders.

By the time Bush 43 took over, I very much doubt that there was any significant number of senior officers who should have been allowed to wear the uniform, and to the best of my knowledge, he did nothing to remedy this.
