Including pronouns in email signatures and on business cards is now an option as part of a 2019 team member policy update. Team members in the U.S. can voluntarily choose to indicate how they should be addressed, with a reference such as Pronouns: They/Them/Theirs, She/Her/Hers, or He/Him/His within their internal- and external-facing communications. Wells Fargo joins companies like Accenture and IBM in updating company policies with more inclusive language in mind. The companys Equal Employment Opportunity and anti-harassment policies include gender identity and expression language as well.
Everything about our Team Member Handbook, and similar policies, is meant to support a respectful and collegial work environment, says Tamara Peterson, PRIDE Team Member Network (TMN) enterprise president and managing counsel on the Legal team. Knowing someones pronouns is the first step in being able to refer to them in the way they identify.
Peterson, who considers herself an ally to the nonbinary, gender diverse, and transgender community, has begun introducing herself when she is in new settings by sharing her pronouns: she/her/hers. As a cisgender woman, she is opting to incorporate her pronouns in her email communications as well. It is such an easy way to signify inclusion, and to show our nonbinary and gender diverse team members that they are respected and valued, Peterson says.
Building a more inclusive vocabulary Resources with definitions and information on the use of inclusive language can be found on sites such as GLSEN , Human Rights Campaign , and Out & Equal Workplace Advocates.
At the end of the day, we are just here to do the best job we can to help our customers and our team members, and we can do that by supporting them whoever they are and however they are, says Ryan Rosa, a project manager based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, who has begun using their pronoun (they/them/theirs) in their email signature.
Rosa is part of PRIDEs Gender Identity and Expression Advisory committee, which serves as a resource on matters affecting the transgender and gender diverse community. Its about us recognizing and better understanding a world including our customer base that is now more openly diverse than ever, Rosa says. The committee also includes members such as William Crook, who works in Tempe, Arizona, as a financial crimes specialist. As a millennial, Crook is part of a generation that identifies as nonbinary and genderfluid more than previous generations, according to recent research by Out & Equal Workplace Advocates. When our allies adapt to the practice of using their pronouns in their email signatures, says Crook,
who also uses the pronoun they, it shows quicker than anything else that first of all, that person understands that pronouns are a thing; second, they know that you cant know someones gender by looking at them; and third, it shows they respect that. When I see your pronouns, I expect that you will
be understanding and supportive if I tell you my pronouns.
There is understanding that adapting to using pronouns like their for nonbinary people is a new habit for many, and recognition that people can make mistakes. A best practice in case pronouns are used incorrectly, Peterson says, is to quickly apologize and move on, just as one would if theyd addressed someone by the wrong name. This is not about being perfect, Peterson says, but it is about trying. It is about making the effort to promote the kind of environment that aligns with our Vision, Values & Goals.
Insanity.
Wells Fargo: Bank with the Freaks
It was on news this morning how this is quickly becoming a normal mandate in Universities, Businesses, HR departments. It will be the law of the land to address people by proper pronouns and you could even lose your job, be sued if you screw up or refuse to do so.
Sorry, Conservatism Inc., but just being “pro business” doesn’t cut it. The HR departments of large corporations are to the left of the humanities department at your local college. The Left was mainstreaming this weird crap while we were told that all we could talk about was capital gains tax cuts.
You should’ve seen the comments section. At first there was push back but it was made clear pretty quick that any dissent was going to be punished and punished severely.
The takeaway is as follows:
Wells Fargo couldnt give a flip about pronouns.
Wells Fargo is doing the bidding of the deep state in purposely destroying our country.
What!? "Whoever"??? It appears to be assuming how customers identify... could be a Theirever or Theyever and this -whatever- is alienating too make folk (Could be folkever). Sheesh!
What is that thing? It looks like a plucked chicken ... with glasses.
Of course. Pushing back against any of this will get you banned from social media; it could cost you your job.
Funny stuff or rather it would be funny if it weren’t extremely serious. Any dissent is often punished with firing. Notice they don’t give an option NOT to go along with this silly crap.
I remember first noticing this pronoun stuff maybe six or seven years ago and thinking it was simply too crazy to ever become a thing.
Its crazy but true however there is an opportunity for someone willing to go through the legal pain. Firing someone because they don’t embrace far left pronoun use could cost a company a lot of money.
He/she doesn’t know what he/she is.
OK, I deem Wells Fargo a Fraud, a Criminal Enterprise.
This is the second time I’ve seen this. The first was in an email from a colleague.

The use of “their” has long been known as an informalism for where “his” was long accepted in standard English. So the violence is less than we think, as long as it doesn’t go to the new invented terms like zis, etc.
This can be ceded, but there is a pitfall in that the actual, self-acknowledged he’s and she’s are now getting shortchanged. And how often do we hear about a Mrs. anymore, even though she be fulfilled as such?
What about the gender fluid who are he by day she by night and poly on alternate tuesdays?
How do these freaks run our society and corporations!!!!! (That's rhetorical BTW)
Homofascism, making everyone bow to their madness.
