House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to bring forth gun control legislation following Saturday night's shooting in Odessa and Midland, Texas.
Pelosi released the following statement about the tragic shooting:
“America’s heart is broken by the senseless and horrific mass shooting tonight in Texas. The prayers of the nation are with the friends and families of the victims and the entire Midland and Odessa communities, and our deepest gratitude goes out to the first responders, who are bringing help and healing during this tragic time.“Enough is enough. Every day, the epidemic of gun violence inflicts a devastating toll in communities in every corner of our country, forcing far too many to endure heartbreak and tragedy. The Republican Senate must end its obstruction and finally pass the commonsense, bipartisan, House-passed gun violence prevention legislation that the country is demanding.
“Tonight and in the days to come, all Americans stand with the Midland and Odessa communities. May it be a comfort to those grieving the loss of their loved ones that so many mourn with and pray for them at this difficult time.”
Schumer took to Twitter to call on McConnell to bring forth H.R. 9, the universal background check bill Democrats passed in the House.
Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, & everyone injured in the shooting in Odessa & Midland, TX.
Thank you to the first responders who risked their lives to stop the threat. @senatemajldr should bring up H.R. 8 the week Congress returns. We must #endgunviolence .
It's always amazing to watch anti-gunners call for gun control legislation before we know anything about the gunman. We don't know his identity, other than him being a white man in his 30s. We don't know what kind of firearm he used, other than it was a "rifle." We don't know how he obtained his firearm. We. Know. Nothing. And yet these people make assumptions about how some gun control law could have prevented the tragedy.

You might ask the Govs of NY, NJ, MA, CT, & WA about the noncompliance rate for mandatory registering of semiautos. Running about 85 - 90 percent IIRC.
Yeah, a lot of semiautos were turned in in Oz, but that’s because they were already registered. But there are still thousands in private hands.
And in New Zealand there is a media blackout after semiautos were made illegal to possess. If the ban were widely complied with, it would be shouted to the heavens.
Any new gun grabbing laws will have a long way to go to where the rubber meets the road.

You forgot the third problem. Men doing nothing to defend their sons against the anti male bias in the school system. When does that change?
So when are men going to do something about having their own sons drugged up like this?

I surmise the real reason the DC establishment politicians want you disarmed is because they know that you know what they have done to you regarding the DC establishment politician’s scam on the American people. From excessively taxing and legislating in order to deny you your Constitutional rights come at the behest of their overlords, the globalist banking cartels. The only way for them to control most Americans is to disarm them. Human history is a strong indicator of what happens to an unarmed citizenry. Our Founding Fathers knew all too well how evil an unrestrained ruling elite can be. If you don’t believe it, then think of all of the deaths that now surrounds the Clintons.

Been following the story locally here in West Texas. My guess is that it was a drug stop gone wrong. Generally wouldn’t find someone carrying a rifle and using it during a routine traffic stop. Police know who it was but are not releasing his name .... guess they are going after others right now.
God needs to be brought back into our lives. He needs to be in schools, people need to return t church and our lawmakers need to be righteous people again.
