I want President Donald Trump to call their bluff. Democrats want "universal background checks" on all gun sales. Let's give it to them -- as soon as Democrats agree to federal government-issued photo and fingerprint ID for every voter in America.
Now there's a grand bargain. Isn't that an offer too good to refuse? Democrats claim they want to stop gun violence. They claim universal background checks are the answer. So why would they reject this offer? Are they so frightened by voter ID that they're willing to let gun violence and mass shootings continue unabated?
What's so scary about voter ID? Don't Democrats claim "election integrity" is a top priority? Aren't they worried about "foreign interference" in U.S. elections? So why isn't it a priority to prevent voter fraud?

The rats don’t want to cover just sales, they want to cover all transactions such as gifts, loans, etc. Thus, if you allow someone at the range to fire your weapon without conducting a background check, you could be in violation.
Real ID, proof of citizenship, should be a national requirement for voting regardless of other issues.
The Democrats will in a million years never weaken their monopoly on illegal voting, so even throwing the idea out will just be a waste of time and a losing debate.
I would be happy with simple enforcement of existing voting laws and existing gun/murder laws.
People are fools and this is a great bargaining chip - offer background checks which by the way there are already background checks. The enemy is ignorant. Play on their ignorance and don’t educate them.

This type of thing is what has gotten us into such trouble. The enemy is NOT ignorant. They are EVIL. They are much better at deception than we will ever be. You don't "bargain" with evil, YOU CRUSH IT.
I read an interesting idea a few weeks ago. Universal background checks, but with *NO* records kept whatsoever. Basically, the idea is that it’s HIPAA for firearms owners. Here’s a link:

Maybe it would play well to tell them that there are already background checks. But only they have thoroughly invested in the requirement and beyond the point and have wasted time resources and political capital. We need to play dirty and exploit their weaknesses and ignorance. This is how we will win.
And you would believe this? They are illegally keeping records as we speak.

Sorry to sound harsh but I don't know how to say this nicely. You are the one who is ignorant here not our enemy. Yes we have NICS background checks and yes the left knows this but that is not what they are talking about. They are talking about forcing a background check and filling out a form like a 4473 on all PRIVATE firearms sales and it will be a felony offense to not comply. What this does in time is create a federal registry of EVERY firearm in the united states. Stop suggesting we play games with people who are far far better at these games than we will ever be. It's the nature of evil to deceive. We need to call them out as the evil tyrants that they are and enforce our natural law. Our god given rights are not up for negotiation.
At this time, the only point where a record of possession of a firearm is created is when you purchase or take possession of a firearm from a FFL licensee. In time many many firearms change hands privately and there is no record of those transfers so there is no way for the government to know where all the AR15s and such are and who has them. The "background" check is what will give the leftist tyrants the complete registry they so desire. With the new "background" check you will need to have an FFL run the NICS check and FILL OUT A 4473 anytime you transfer a firearm even if you have owned that firearms for decades and it was passed to you from your grandfather. This will now create a record of who has that firearm and where it's located. It will be a serious, go to jail for years, felony offense not to comply so don't think you will just find someone and sell or buy under the table as that person may well be one of a quarter of a million federal agents and you will go to prison.
Again, we collectively and this includes the President need to STOP playing games with the left. We need to stop them head on.
I have a better plan, Wayne.
1) Never bargain with the 2A.
2) Win healthy MAGA majorities in Congress.
3) Then ram a National Voter ID law down the enemy’s throat.

But why not play the game and claim that we already have background checks. People ignorant of the laws and don’t know the difference and it will be worth the points to show the ignorance of 99% of the politicians who also don’t know the difference. Then lead into the argument that background checks would NOT have stopped any of the mass murders and that they are fools and are being lied to. Once they have lied claim that they cannot be believed. Then have it televised and propagate across the internet. The whole gun control meme is 100% emotions and no logic. Use their emotions against them. This is their Achilles heel.
I agree, there’s no need for any more restrictions and, in fact, I’m strictly against doing so. My point isn’t that there should be any actual compromise, but rather that you can use the mere suggestion of one as a means to prove the Dems as hypocrites on the issue and shut the issue down.
You can always say you sold them. For now.

It’s not a real offer, it’s just a way of pointing out that liberals are unprincipled hypocrites and operate under double standards.
