I am sure the statues are of men, who are famous for their accomplishments and contributions. Removing those statues, just because they are men is terrible.

Instead, they could have looked for and found a few famous, accomplished women throughout history and put up some statues of these accomplished women too.

I have been to NYC and I was even more offended by all the statues of gargoyles on many of the buildings. Fear and terror as my inner snowflake was terrified. Tear the buildings down! As a cisgender male how demeaning to see grotesque creatures staring at you as you walk along. //Sarcasm off.
