Former Texas congressman Robert "Beto" O'Rourke used the 1970 Kent State shooting to shame gun owners who showed up to his rally, but failed to mention that government employees were the ones pulling the trigger.
At a Wednesday rally at Kent State University in Ohio, the 220 Democratic presidential candidate called out gun owners who attended his event carrying so-called "assault rifles," accusing them of trying to "intimidate" him and his supporters.
"Yesterday, people brought assault weapons to our rally at Kent Statewhere 4 students were shot dead in 1970," O'Rourke tweeted Thursday.
"I told them nobody should show up with an AK-47 or an AR-15 to seek to intimidate us in our own democracy. We need to buy back every single one of them."

But O'Rourke failed to mention some very important facts about the Kent State shooting.

It would only be news if Beto were to say something honest.
We need to buy back every single one of them.
= = =
They were paid for in blood.
You gonna buy them back?
Did Beto note that it was government guns versus unarmed citizens?
I hit the link and my computer locked up with a warning that Firefox had detected an attempt to access my banking records - even Ctl-Alt-Delete didn’t work - had to do a hard power down.
Gonna do a full scan before doing any more.
How does an El Paso resident with the name Beto foisted upon him get out of there with some weird California moonbeam surfer-dude accent?
Probably no one considered the 30.06 rounds were a little hotter than today’s .223s? At least they weapons only had 8 round mags. Just think how devastating it would have been had they had 30 round mags. Pling! Anyone else know that particular sound? Anyone with a smashed thumb?
That is so weird. Happened to me a while back going to wnd with the red page telling me to call microsoft right away with some bogus number. I did a power down as well and a full scan and noting was found. Then the same thing happened to another FReeper. They used to be pretty dependable. Is it a random thing or is it wnd with a case of herpes. Sorry.

“Hell Yeah, Were Gonna to Take Your AR-15”
Who is “we” you weak-kneed POS?
And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalins thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didnt love FREEDOM enough. And even more we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward. Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn ,

I just hit the wnd link to check and it seemed to go through just fine. Strange. Again, sorry. Ghosts in the machine.
I cannot believe the absolute ignorance of this nut case saying: “We need to buy back every single one of them.”
But OK, let’s take him at his word, and do just that. Let’s go ahead and buy back every gun the military has, while we are at it, let’s take away the cops guns too. In essence, that what this mindless freak is saying.
But, truth be told, that’s probably what the radical left wants is to disarm the military and cops since they hate them as much as they do America in general.
The sad part is the useful idiots he’s preaching too probably know no different, as many believe Lincoln was a democrat and the Republican KKK held up civil rights for decades.
IIRC, the National Guardsmen were using M1 rifles. 8 round clip in an internal magazine. Nowhere near anyone’s description of an “assault weapon”.
Yup. Like I said, would have been much worse if they had 30 round mags.
uhhhhh, Beato on your own crazy seato.... it was the NATIONAL GUARD who killed.... not Ohio State students but lib hanger on crazies caught in a crossfire.
Aren’t they sometimes known as ‘citizen soldiers’? Ergo.....
HEH-HEH— yeah......but excellent point against the interpretation of the 2nd Amendment that made the “militia” (which is ALL of the People, being neccessary to the security of a Free State. All of the People, “regulated” meaning well trained with fully operational and maintained ARMS. Fire-Arms, Side-Arms, pointed sticks, sabres, Fairburn fore-arm dirks, halberds.... whatever) morphed the militia into the National Guard.... NOPE!
So- these libs don’t get it was their vaunted idea of a “militia” of gubmint troops who KILLED citizens. It was not OK but law and order decided to call them in.
The shooting of 4 students by US National Guard troops is the REASON the founders put the second amendment into the Bill of Rights. Had the students been shooting back the whole scenario would have been quite different.
Not quite the Army and not militia.
It’s past time for Beto to get off the stage...
