Gregg Jarrett: Ukraine is just the latest ploy in 'witch hunt' to drive Trump from White House
Fox News ^ | September 29, 2019 | Gregg Jarrett

It is ludicrous to argue that President Trump’s telephone conversation with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky was an impeachable offense.

Trump had every right to ask Ukraine to cooperate or assist in an official Department of Justice investigation into the origins of the Russia “collusion” hoax. His request was pursuant to an official probe being conducted by U.S. Attorney John Durham and initiated by Attorney General William Barr. In fact, Ukraine is required to comply under a binding treaty with the U.S.

The Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters obligates Ukraine to provide, upon request by the U.S., assistance “in connection with the investigation, prosecution, and prevention of offenses, and in proceedings related to criminal matters.” This treaty was negotiated by then-president Bill Clinton more than 20 years ago and approved by the U.S. Senate. Among other things, Ukraine agreed to furnish “documents, records, the taking of testimony or statements of persons” relevant to any U.S. investigation.

Unfortunately, Kiev has not always abided by this treaty. Beset by rampant corruption, past Ukrainian administrations have been less than cooperative with the U.S. Indeed, there is significant evidence that Ukraine actively meddled in the 2016 election by providing dirt on the Trump campaign at the behest of a Democratic National Committee subcontractor who wanted to help elect Hillary Clinton. This is detailed in my new book, "Witch Hunt."

With the election of a new Ukrainian president who vowed to end the rampant corruption, President Trump saw an opportunity to reset relations and obtain assistance in the Durham investigation. As pointed out by columnist Marc Thiessen, the DOJ has disclosed that it is “exploring the extent to which a number of countries, including Ukraine, played a role in the counterintelligence investigation directed at the campaign during the 2016 election.”

The Steele dossier did not work out. The whistleblower complaint is just the second coming of the Steele dossier. It another work of fiction to give democrats cover to have another investigation in search of a crime. Just more of the deep state at work.

With the Ukraine fiasco, that makes about the 6th? or 7th? time they have threatened to impeach President Trump. They even called to impeach Trump before he was sworn in and not once have they stated any legitimate reason or charge.

To a normal person, that is enough to spell out that this has all been a ‘witch hunt’ since the beginning.

Still they have yet to even call for a vote to establish an inquiry into impeachment and I want to see every critters vote on record also.

They’re absolutely rabid in their intent to get him out of office before another Supreme Court nomination is necessary.

Yes, and I always keep in mind the efforts to “stop Trump” going all the way back to the time when he was just a candidate. The GOPe efforts to stop Trump from being nominated. The suggestions of monkeying with the Electoral College after the election to keep him from taking office at all. The various other suggestions of ways to stop Trump: assassination, military coup, 25th Amendment. The other calls for impeachment, including the one that had Trump impeached and removed first, and then Pence, so that Pelosi could succeed. And even more bizarre ones that have Pelosi name H. Clinton as VP, resign, and then H. Clinton could take her rightful place in the Oval Office. I actually saw average Americans on social media thinking that was a good idea. And then there are horrid and contrived scandals they have thrown against him and failed to stick. And the endless lies and slanders about him and about us, his supporters.

I have supported Donald Trump since I saw him in the first GOP debate. I liked his spirit. I liked his being an outsider. He spoke clearly to some of the big problems that endanger the country. Just as importantly, he had all the right enemies — people I have not liked or trusted for decades, some of the most reprehensible among us who do not have the interests of the country at heart, who should not be anywhere near positions of power, and whom I have no interest in following into the further ruination of this country.

Those enemies of his are mine as well.

What’s good about Ukraine is in going there the traitors are over the target of their own provable corruption. The Ukraine is where these traitors have been corruptly laundering huge piles of dollars for years. Everyone talks about the Ukrainian government being so corrupt, but a whole lot of greedy crooks from this country have helped make it so.

Yes Gregg, we know that.

Instead of telling us that the sky is blue and water is wet, why don't you do a commentary about how Barr can't get off his backside.

- Refused (twice) to prosecute Comey for obvious crimes that would have landed you or me in a Federal prison

- Accepted the ridiculous "Epstein suicide" lie, along with the notion that several cameras watching his cell all miraculously and simultaneously failed (a statistical impossibility)

- Allows the DOJ to drag its feet after prosecution was recommended for McCabe, Comey, and others

- Allows Smirking Wray and the FBI to thumb its nose at requests for documents

And now our President is under a Seditious Conspiracy (AGAIN|), and what is Barr doing?

Hey Bagpipes, maybe you want to take a look at these (if you are not too busy.....)

18 U.S. Code § 2384. Seditious conspiracy

18 U.S. Code § 2381. Treason

When is Trump going to pull a Rocky and start hitting back with his southpaw? Start pummeling Apollo Creed (in this case, the Demwits).

Couldn’t make that movie today.

If they did, Rocky would have to be some ‘midget type homo’ who kicks the hell out of the WHITE bully.

There is an ad running that has a White woman (which will probably change) anxiously awaiting the outcome of the ‘boards’ decision for the next ‘full partner’ and it turns out to be a White Male.

Picture cuts to a disappointed ‘Claire’ and the voice over says ‘Claire was turned down again, but it won’t happen again’ as she is shown filling out and submitting her resume etc etc etc

CAN you even THINK of the same ad with a White MALE being in ‘Claire’s’ situation, being passed over for a Female or Minority?

They may show that situation BUT NEVER in the aspect of HIM being ‘screwed’ out of a promotion.
